Wednesday Words of Weight Loss- the HOP
Patrice, at
Everyday Ruralty, hosts Wednesday Words of Weight Loss every Wednesday! It's a fun HOP that offers encouragement and company on the issue of weight. It's never too late to join! Come on, this is your week to join in the FUN!
PATRICE writes: "If you'd like to participate, there are 5 questions that you can blog about. Some of them deal with weight and healthy eating. Some are just to "break the ice" and get us talking. Visit some of the other blogs and offer some words of support, or just say hello. You can get the button from my sidebar and then everyone can find the linky, and the other participants."
Before I get started with the questions, I'd like to thank Patrice not only for hosting this fun/supportive/encouraging HOP on Wednesdays but also for the fun contest that I WON!!! And the prize came in yesterday afternoon. Here it is:

See that stack of paper the products are sitting on? Those are recipes! It's baking time! |
Questions1. Is there something that triggers too much snacking for you? Yes, being awake. Seriously, late night snacking in front of the television, but I stopped that two weeks ago. Late afternoon is a bad snacking time too.
2. What kind of music do you like while you're exercising? That all depends on my mood but it's usually either David Garrett, Sting, John Mellencamp, The Beatles or a variety mix that I put in a couple of playlists- one for fast walking, one for a slower paced walk. Tucker doesn't plug in, he's to busy peeing on every darn thing we pass.
3. What's your favorite thing about spring? The garden- the prep work, the planting AND, best of all, the birthdays: Deanie, my brother Tony, and BestSonInLawEVER.
4. Do you ever feel like you have to carefully weigh advice given in popular magazines? Certainly, you can't believe everything you read. Especially not these days when the media seems to be putting their own personal bias on everything and, instead of being there to report the news or inform the public, they merely try to stir up trouble and controversy where they is none. As a matter of fact, we shouldn't simply weigh it but question the hell out of it! (Sorry, soapbox).
5. If you could invite 5 people you do not regularly see to visit with you, On a porch while drinking tea or coffee, who would they be? I agree with Patrice here but, there is no way to narrow this down to only five--I would LOVE, absolutely LOVE to have ALL my bloggy friends on the porch drinking wine mint juleps coffee or tea. And we could all go for a walk on the beach. Oh, and those that have doggies should bring them. Tucker wants to play!
This is the 30th day of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) for the month of March. The theme for this month is: in a word! My chosen word for today is: ENCOURAGMENT because that's what you get from this particular HOP every Wednesday!
I agree that it would be hard to narrow down the blog friends to only 5. I need some more lawn chairs now!
ReplyDeleteNow you've gone and done it. You got me riled up regarding the media!! But I'll not even step up on my own soap box 'cause you've stated pretty darned much what I'd say. As for Tucker peeing on everything you pass...that's sweet. Don't you think? He's just marking the territory as your and his...for next time!! Ohhhhhhhh, Sting!! How I love his voice and songs. I think I'd rather dance to his songs tho. LOL
ReplyDeleteNow let me get this straight....you don't snack any more? More power to you. I love my 1/4 cup of dark chocolate covered raisins. I'm addicted. "They" say that dark chocolate is good for you. But then, that's a form of media.
Have a terrific day.

Patrice- I know and how much fun would it be?!
ReplyDeleteAnni- Thank you for always making me laugh! (dark chocolate = good for you = form of media)! I get so angry with the news that I rarely, if ever, even bother to watch it. Oh, I snack, just not at after 8:00 pm. Before then, I cram in as much as I possibly can. LOL
Hootin' Anni talked about dark chocolate raisins. Hey, I find that eating a handful of chocolate chips satisfies me way more than a great quantity of anything else, so why not? Keeping my hands busy helps too, like knitting or something. I can't watch TV and not knit or eat.
ReplyDeleteBridger, Misty, and I'll be there to walk on the beach with you and Tucker. :-) But it might be a while. It's a looong walk from here to there.
Betty- Yes it would! I baked the chewy chocolate chip cookies and they are really good!
ReplyDeleteJudy-I find that I stop knitting long enough to pop something in my mouth...that's got to stop! LOL I can't wait for y'all to get here! And it's plenty warm enough to go to the beach. AND, on IOP, before 10 am and after 4 pm, the doggies get to run FREE! No leashes!
Writer's block....darn them, anyway. I turn to food for "encouragement"!
ReplyDeleteBeth- Oh yeah, that too! LOL
ReplyDeleteI tend to 'graze' all day instead of actually eating a meal. I think I'd be much better off if I took the time to fix something nutritious and sat down to eat. Evening is bad for me, too--whether reading or watching TV.
