Patrice, at Everyday Ruralty, hosts Wednesday Words of Weight Loss every Wednesday! It's a fun HOP that offers encouragement and company on the issue of weight. Come on, this is your week to join in the FUN!
Questions
1. What's your favorite thing to do outside when spring arrives? The first thing I do is complain about being short changed on winter---because we always are. But then, slowly, I begin to appreciate little things like not having to bundle up to take Tucker for his morning walks; opening the windows and watching the birds; not having to turn on the AC or the heat; and PREPARING THE GARDEN for planting.
2. What flower are you most looking forward to seeing this spring? I don't look forward to seeing spring flowers but that's probably because we seem to have flowers around here year round and I take them for granted. I do, however, enjoy the yellow jasmine that flows over the bad neighbors privacy (yeah, right) fence onto my fence---very pretty.
3. Is there someone who encourages you to be healthy? Yes, my BFF does. And it gets annoying because it's more like a beat down than encouragement. I'm kidding. I only see it as a beat down when I'm not motivated to do it. Like now.
4. Where would you go on vacation if money was no abject? Okay, this has nothing to do with weight, but it's a fun question! I don't know- it could have something to do with weight because if I looked better I would feel better and might be more likely to go somewhere. Then again, I'm not really a traveler. Instead of traveling, I would probably rent a house right on the beach (for one week) big enough for the whole family plus many extended family members. And take Robert Hopkins' excursion out to Capers Island for a day!
Birdie, her BFF, DoodleBug, Deanie, and Breezy headed out to Capers.
5. Is there something nice you can do for someone else this week? Yes. I will be cooking for my college lovelies tonight. And Hubs could probably stand a bit of pampering this weekend since they've been working so much overtime this week---breakfast in bed for him perhaps?
This is the 16th day of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) for the month of March. The theme for this month is: in a word! My chosen word for today is: MEME because I wanted to participate in Patrice's HOP or MEME!
"Short-changed on winter". I don't think I've ever heard that before. I say, good riddance to winter every year! Bring on Spring. I'm sure hubby will really appreciate breakfast in bed.
I was just stuffing a large piece of cake into my mouth when I logged on to your blog...guess what...it's back on the plate now. I really should make more effort but it's still cold and grey here so I don't feel inclined to exercise or lose weight just yet. Maybe when I burst the zip on my trousers (pants!) Stick at it (says Mrs Lazy Arse here!) By the way - just laughed at your comment you left me...Freudian indeed!
#4....I especially enjoyed. As I'm not much of a traveler either [especially now-a-days with all the security issues at airports...and driving long distances is not my cup of tea either]...but your weekend excursion sounds blissfully fun and relaxing!!!!
Then I get to #5.....breakfast in bed? Whoa...you know how to spoil you man, now, don't you?!!!
Thanks for visiting with me yesterday!!! My Thursday Theme Song Link: Irish Eyes are Smilin'
Oh, try the Outer Banks in NC. They have tons of huge gorgeous houses to rent right on the ocean. Our family of 22 has gone for the last 10 years -- couldn't be a better vaca.
Jessica- We went to the outer banks a lot when I was a kid. Now, I prefer right across the bridge--it only takes 5 minutes to get to the beach as opposed to 450 miles! LOL
Being a transplant to the low-country of SC for 31 years is still not long enough to be called a ‘benyeh.’ If I stay until I’m dead I’ll probably go a ‘comeyeh’ since I am, originally, ‘from off’ (which is the upstate but, rules you know). By day I take care of my sweet little granddaughter, Baby M and do all those things I did when I was a SAHM raising four daughters which has translated to, ‘by day, I am exhausted.’ By night I blog, blog, blog, and blog some more or I sleep, depending on my level of exhaustion (do they still make Geritol?). I have a very unhealthy addiction to sweets (nearly any kind will do) and all comfort foods not covered under the ‘sweets’ category. I’m known for speaking my mind so, if you don’t want to know, don’t ask me. I love to find the humor in my empty nest life. I live life hard and smack into that brick wall almost daily because I’ve always had to learn the hard way. Why change now? I’m so glad you’ve come to laugh with me as I do this middle age, empty nest thing like a BOSS!
