It's the end of another week! That means it's time for the FRIDAY HOPS! If you are here for FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY only, then just scroll down! Have a FANTASTIC weekend!
This weeks statements:
1. When I reflect back upon my life, I regret several things. And I think I'll leave it at that.
2. I over use the word damn. I know. But I do. It's the first thing out of my mouth when I drop something or something makes me mad or something goes wrong or something perplexes (that's for you Hilary) me.
3. The first time I saw the beach/mountains was when I was too young to remember. My parents always went to the mountains and beach every year. The first time I remember the mountains I was three and we went to Tweetsie. You can read that traumatizing story right here.
4. The lovelies remind me of the color yellow. Because of their bright smiles and sunny dispositions--every time they walk in a room everything and everyone brightens up!
Next is Five Question Friday from Mama M. at My Little Life.
This HOP is a great way to get to know each other better and to meet new friends! If you click on the button, it'll take you right over there to join in the fun!
Questions for Friday, June 10th:
1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now? Not as close as I used to like--but, as we get older, we make decisions and realize that some concessions have to be made and we learn to live with them.
2. What is one must have item for the summer? Air conditioning.
3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?) When the lovelies were coming up I did not make them stay up on school stuff on summer vacation because I did not see the need. Our four daughters didn't 'lose' anything school related during the summer. They were (and still are) avid readers so they did spend a lot of time reading during the summers but that was self-imposed. Besides, we were way too busy on the beach every day of summer!
4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce? I will be this summer. Our garden is growing like CRAZY and there are only two of us at home now. I watched and helped my grandmother do this every summer but I need refresher lessons!
5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning? Sure do. I get right up and dress in my workout clothes and take Tucker for a walk/run--otherwise, he sits and stares at me until I do get ready. He may only weigh 9 pounds, but he can stare a hole through you when he wants to go walk/run. He's also quite adept at using a pitiful face that makes a full grown adult move her rear rather quickly. This morning, Tuck made a new discovery--
I'm envious of your "get up and go" energy first thing in the morning. I always plan to walk the dog, first thing out of bed, but seem to need an hour to get moving and by then, it's time to get ready for work.
ReplyDeleteTucker just won't stand for it if I'm not ready to go when I get up. He really does sit there and stare at me like, "Are you ready NOW?" When I subbed for a friend's class a few weeks ago, I had to get up at 5:30 and be out with Tucker by 6---YIKES! LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! I am a morning bird too! Dogs are great motivators--aren't they?
ReplyDeleteBetty- They sure are! I'm ok with mornings as long as nobody talks to me. I'm not ready to talk until I've been up at least an hour. LOL
ReplyDeleteBoy, I'm with you. I'm so ready for the day early in the morning. My body never lets me sleep in. And isn't Tucker a lucky boy that you ARE up and at it in the early morning!! :-) OOOOh, exciting find, Tucker.
ReplyDeleteI have missed you while I've been AWOL...reading today's post has reminded me just how much! You are truly a tonic. I so love your honesty and forthrightness and your delightful sense of humour :)
ReplyDeleteYour tomatoes are looking great and Tucker is adorable...wonder what was going through his mind when he met that mobile rock!
Having a dog makes you get up and get dressed and out? See? I knew there had to be a downside to dogs. Some things are just to good to be true.
ReplyDeleteI would rather stay in my jammies until the paper is read and I've had at least two cups of tea.
Judy-LOL thanks! I have to get up early to go because of the heat too...it's just too hot out there after 7:30.
ReplyDeleteDesiree- YOU'RE BACK!!! I missed you! Thanks! Tucker was cautious and, when the turtle moved, Tuck took off! My hero...LOL
Stephanie-I used to be like that too. But, when I decided to get Tucker, I knew those days were over!
ReplyDeleteHi. I just became a follower of your blog. I'm excited we get to encourage and support one another. Can't wait to read more of your posts :)
ReplyDeleteHey, there--I'm finally reading you through Debbi's link! The first thing I do in the morning is take Wyatt out (he's an English Cocker Spaniel) but usually in my jammies. Glad we're well off the road!
ReplyDeleteIt's taken me a while to warm up to Mumford and Sons--not sure why--but I'm getting there.
Have a great weekend!
faithful-thanks! I'm excited too...at least until I step on that scale over there on Monday morning. LOL
ReplyDeleteLizzie-So glad you made it over! The lovelies (our 4 daughters) usually keep me updated on new-to-me bands but they left me out of the loop on Mumford and Sons. LOL
Love the turtle shot! My dad's seven pounder can stare a hole in people too. FUnny that they can be soooo determined for such little animals. I totaly agree with you on the air conditioning.

I knew there was a reason I have 3 "indoor" cats! Actually, I grew up with an amazing dog and our daughter did too. We lost him in 2002 and I just haven't been able to do it again. Maybe some day when Mr B and I don't travel as much... I do miss him terribly though. (sigh)
ReplyDeleteWell, now that I pulled a total Debbie Downer on you... I love that shot of Tucker and the turtle! Did it pop it's head out to say howdy?
Have a great weekend!
~Mrs B
Great answers! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteKimberlee-Thanks! I know, they are so funny!
ReplyDeleteMrs B-He did pop his head out and say howdy and Tucker took off in the opposite direction! We had a golden retriever for 13 years while the lovelies were growing up...we miss him too. It was quite a decision about getting Tucker. I'm glad I did though.
Yvonne-Thanks! You too!
I love that picture with Tucker and the turtle, that is so great. I like all of your Meme's I didn't know there were that many. They are all very interesting and I love that you call your beautiful girls the "Lovely's" That is a really great name.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
So just what did Tucker think of his newly found friend?
ReplyDeleteTucker gets cuter every day. I don't know how people can live without dogs, or cats for that matter.
ReplyDeleteSo good to get to know you. What a fun way to do it! :)

Pam, you so made me smile when you dropped the "perplex"!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
Yet another reason I am NOT an animal person! Let this sleeping lady lie!
ReplyDeleteFarm Girl- Thanks! There are quite a few memes out there! The lovelies are quite lovely, aren't they? LOL
ReplyDeleteMichele- He was quite curious until the turtle made a noise and moved, then Tucker retreated. And fast! LOL
Alessandra- I agree--on both counts!
Elizabeth- Thanks!
Blogged- I haven't always been this way. LOL
Hilary- I was hoping you'd see that one! LOL
Cindy-I don't mind getting up but nobody better talk to me!
how do our dogs bully us around like that. If one of mine just looks at me 2 seconds too long, they can get whatever they want from me.
ReplyDeleteI find it a bit easier to adhere to a weight loss goal during the summer. So many great fresh veggies and fruits.
