Up first is a HUMP DAY HOP from Patrice at Everyday Ruralty called Chats on the farmhouse porch!
- If you could bring someone to Patrice's porch to join in on our chat, who would you bring? Well, first I thought I would bring the lovelies but, that's more than one person. So, I am going to be selfish and say NO ONE. That way I get the whole time with Patrice all by myself!
- What's your favorite thing to make when fall rolls around? (Can be food, or maybe a craft.) Anything in the crock pot and baked goods--breads and cookies and pies galore! And craftwise, knitting! Partly because it's fall and partly because it takes me that long to knit things for Christmas.
- How many times a month do you go to a library or bookstore? I don't go to the library here in town because it sucks and the people who frequent it are snooty. I do go to Barnes & Noble every so often but I try to stay away because I have NEVER, not one single time, come out of that store without spending money!
- What things make blogs the best? Good writing and humor. But also interesting tales of places I am unfamiliar with and photos.
- If someone would pay for you to take a class (any class- college-private-online-at a craft store-the sky's the limit here, my friends), what class would you take? (BTW- I wish I could go "poof" with my magic wand and make this happen for each of you!) I would either take a writing class OR a photography class. Probably. But then, I'd like to re-learn Spanish. And I could use a knitting class. Maybe my indecisiveness is the reason I'm not taking any classes.
NEXT is WEDNESDAY HODGE PODGE from Joyce at From This Side of the Pond. This meme is fun and sometimes even poses a challenge (read: she makes us use our noggins!).
2. Besides cooler weather (or warmer weather, depending on your hemisphere) what is one thing you are looking forward to this fall? FOOTBALL! HOLIDAYS! The lovelies coming home for visits! Sorry, can't narrow this one down to one.
3. What sound lulls you to sleep? My fan. I can't go to sleep without it! It reminds me of the window fan I had in my window when I was growing up. I just love that sound.
4. September is National Preparedness Month...does your family have an emergency 'kit' and/or disaster plan in place? Yes. Living only 5 minutes from the beach means that hurricane season is quite important to us. We keep everything we need at hand (batteries, flashlights, bottled water, canned goods, generator, etc.) and I know where the items are that I will take with us should we need to evacuate.
8. Insert your own random here.I am STILL totally digging my new ASICS! I am STILL wondering what the Carolina Panthers were thinking when they hired this new coach and Cam Newton. I am STILL waiting on cooler weather. AND there's another freaking hurricane brewing in the Atlantic. I HATE those things.
So glad you found a great pair of shoes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pic of your girls! Oh the stories I'm sure you could tell, being the mom of four lovelies!
Have a great day.
I hope the hurricane wanna be stays put! That picture is too cute : )
ReplyDelete5 minutes from the beach? I'm green with envy. Great advice on No. 1, I couldn't have said it better myself.
ReplyDeleteKathy- Thanks! Me too! Oh yes, I sure do have the stories! LOL
ReplyDeleteJoyce- Thanks! We do too--those things are bad news. Hurricanes, not the girls. LOL
Clairity-Yes! It's great until a hurricane comes through. Thanks!
Aren't words the best? There can be too many but only if they're the wrong ones. I love your words and look forward to whatever you choose to say.
ReplyDeleteStephanie- You are so sweet! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI forgot about the fact that my writing has improved, that was a good point! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteWhen you look at pictures of your lovelies does it make you want to say, Hey, I know I was pregnant longer than it took them to grow up!!! That is lovely picture with those little girls. My son was going through things this weekend and found old pictures and it just got to me how fast it zoomed by,
ReplyDeleteI think about taking a photography class too. Writing class would be good and all of those things that I better start doing. :)
I really liked your answers today.
Enjoy those walkin shoes!!!
I like the answer you gave to what makes 'the best blogs' - it is so true ... people like pictures and being transported to somewhere different! Great post ... very interesing me dear!!

I love that photo ... nope, no words needed! ha!
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with the hurricanes this summer/fall? And all of them are aimed for the Atlantic coast? Two words: STAY. AWAY.
I smiled at many of your answers! What's the brand of those shoes again? ;-)
