FOR TODAY
Outside my window...I see two Cardinals (one male one female), a Brown Thrasher, a Titmouse, and a Mockingbird at the bird feeders and two Mourning Doves sitting on top of the post. Sometimes, if I watch long enough, the Cardinals will chase each other around the yard in a playful game-like manner.
I am thinking...about how good it is that football season has begun and that fall weather will be here soon!
I am thankful...for my most wonderful family! They are simply the best!
From the learning rooms...(if this applies)
In the kitchen...I got out my crock pot because I love to use it for fall dishes and I hope that this will encourage fall to COME QUICKLY and STAY for a while!
I am wearing...my workout clothes.
I am creating...a knitted surprise for one of the lovelies.
I am going...to have to venture out at some point and go to the grocery store. I'm putting it off as long as possible!
I am wondering...what the Carolina Panthers were thinking when they hired this particular coach and Cam Newton.
I am reading...Sister by Rosamund Lupton. I got it for FREE from Read It First!
I am hoping...that hurricane Katia and all future hurricanes STAY OUT AT SEA and don't bother anyone!
I am looking forward to...the holidays- Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas AND much cooler weather!
I am hearing...those sweet birds outside the window chirping...I think they're singing a song about fall.
Around the house...there is so much to be done that I don't know where to start!
I am pondering...whether or not to plant fall flowers in the back yard.
One of my favorite things...is my new pair of shoes! I am still in love with my Asics!
A few plans for the rest of the week: steam clean the floors; walk 5 miles every day and consider ankle weights---but ONLY consider them; clean the bird bath; hopefully begin a new weight loss challenge...
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
This is one of my favorites out of all of my bird shots. |
I love this - what a cute idea! I love bird watching too - they fascinate me. I love that bird action shot. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIs that a good book? I'll have to look for that - I'm always looking for new books to read!
I'm ready for cooler weather as well. I need to get my crockpot out too, to inspire me to get more organized with planning dinners!
Happy Labor Day!
You have a wonderful variety of, what are to me, exotic birds outside your window.
ReplyDeleteLove the heron. That is the perfect message of strength and beauty for today. Thanks.
That really is a beautiful photograph! you have every right to be proud of it! What a lovely selection of birds you had visiting earlier today! I could easily spend ages enjoying the birds that come to our garden and would, too, if there wasn't always such a lot to do. I enjoyed this themed post very much. Doing something like this helps to keep one grounded and reminds one to notice the many little things that make up ones day!
ReplyDeleteI love watching birds too, we feed ours so much that pretty soon they might become flightless birds....Not crazy about fall, but love to use the crockpot too, no much cleaning afterwards...
ReplyDeleteYour picture is beautiful! I am so looking forward to fall.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Susan
This is a great post!!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture at the bottom. =)
I'm looking forward to Fall, but not Winter. I hate the cold, and hate even more driving in snow...
Hee Hee! I see that THOSE shoes have put in an appearance again. Blimey, ankle weights. Steady on now! That photograph is absolutely awesome, and you should be extremely proud of it. Hope you're having a good Labour (Labor) Day. I can see that you just can't wait for Autumn to arrive!
ReplyDeleteMommie- It's the first time I've tried it. I like it too! SISTER is a pretty good book. I didn't think I'd like it at first, but it was able to grab my attention. Hope you're enjoying the day without schedules!
ReplyDeleteStephanie- I participated in the Great American Backyard Bird Count last year and discovered 17 different species in my YARD! It was awesome!
Desiree- Well, we aren't in the garden of Eden like you are but we do have some lovely birds. LOL I so enjoy your garden and birds!
Alessandra- Does it even get cold there? Seriously, does it? Our birds are getting fat too. This morning there was a RAT in the flat feeder! Disgusting!
Susan- Thanks! Me too!
Brandi- I love winter almost as much as fall but then, we don't get snow. Or, very little. When it does snow we just enjoy it for a few hours and it's gone! Thanks!
Diane-I'm not kidding about the level of love I have for those shoes! LOL Thank you so much! We're just laying low for the day!
I am certainly tired of the 100 degree plus weather here. Sadly, it will stay that way until sometime in October. Its our payback for not having to fight the wind and snow.
ReplyDeleteMrs.- I think you're right about that! But I'd take a little of that snow in exchange---just a little though. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like your photo a lot. Photos of birds in flight are amazing. My fav is the pelican.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo too - ah isn't nature beautiful?
ReplyDeleteXXXX to you all and hope you are still loving your shoes!
Betty-Thanks! These shoes are amazing!
ReplyDeleteMichele-Thank you! I used to love Pelicans too and then I moved to Herons and Egrets and...oh heck. I like them all! LOL
Carol! Thanks Twin! Truly it is! And I am! LOL
Oh my gosh...the bird photo is stunning! Wow.
ReplyDeleteAnd you got some new shoes? Work out shoes? Or dress up? All in the same thought, you mentioned work out shoes, so I'm assuming that's the kind. And cardinals? Beautiful birds!! Whatcha knitting? A secret, I'm sure.
Fall flowers? Oh my goodness, lucky you. Here still it's too dry to even consider planting. Oh but the weeds still thrive.
I see this afternoon, that Katia is gonna head out to sea...but there is a huge NEW one cropping up just off the African coast.
I'm glad you stopped by today for a visit. I am going absolutely bonkers over this genealogy right now, I just had to shut it all down and forget it for today. Afterall, tomorrow's another day.
Have a great evening.
Can't wait to make chicken soup and beef stew when it gets colder. But I'm in no rush!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnni- Glad you're not too close to those wildfires! My SIL's sister and her fam had to evacuate today. Scary stuff! We do NOT want a hurricane EVER again! I can't believe there's another one to watch! I hate those things! Yes, work out shoes! They're Asics and I'm in love with them! And the knitting IS a surprise! But I'll post a picture soon! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBarb-I'm beyond ready! Hot weather makes my bad moods quite active! LOL
I'm glad to hear that you're going to have fall there too! I don't know how you can tolerate the summers. This morning it was 46 degrees here when I got up. Fall is definitely here and I'm ready for it! Did you get to the store? I am so impressed with your daily 5 mile walk. I may have done a couple miles just up and down the steps to the pressure canner!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the bird photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing shot... gorgeous
ReplyDeleteLots of birds out your window! This is a cool way to keep a journal. Very interesting. Love that picture!
ReplyDeleteJudy-It's not easy here in the summers, that's for sure! 46? We don't get that until January or February! Lucky you! I did get to the store!
ReplyDeleteJoyce-thank you!
Clare- Thank you!
Debby- I was thinking about using it as a guideline for my journal sometimes! Click on the button and go over to join! Thanks!
