How is it that Wednesday comes around so darn quick every single week? This past weekend was GREAT! Breezy was home for a few days. AND, remember that baby shower we had in August? Well, Keely came over too and brought the new little one! I love babies! They are just so wonderful in every way!
The HOPS are just after the pictures!

First up this week is
WEDNESDAY HODGE PODGE from Joyce at From This Side of the Pond. This meme is fun and sometimes even poses a challenge (read: she makes us use our noggins!).
1. Of all the tools and gadgets you own which do you most enjoy using?
Mostly, I enjoy watching Hubs use the tools and gadgets. But- I do really love to use that thingy that goes whirwhir...uh...the...um...oh yeah! The cordless drill! That thing makes me feel all kinds of important!
2. When (if ever) is impatience a virtue?I should really have a response to this since I am, quite probably, the most impatient person on the face of the earth. Ok, how about the time my FIL was in the hospital and was not getting proper treatment and, when I became impatient waiting, I went out to the nurses desk and raised...the roof...and maybe cursed a bit at them. Suddenly, they were right down there giving him the care he needed. I hate hospitals.
3. What temperature do you keep your thermostat set to in winter? Do you have another way to heat your house besides a furnace of some type?We keep it on 65. But we have this awesome little infrared heater that heats the house right up for very little cost.
4. Do/did you have a close relationship with any of your grandparents? O.M.G. YES! I absolutely worshiped and adored all my grandparents! They were the BEST and I sill miss them terribly!
5. When did you last have a family portrait taken? Wow, including me and Hubs with the lovelies----I think it was when DoodleBug was born. And she's 20 now. Of course we have had portraits of the four of them all through the years. The last was three years ago.
6. What does the word patriotism mean to you? I've never really thought about this. But I LOVE Joyce's response!
7. Do you like to play cards and if so, what's your favorite card game? We LOVE to play Canasta! And, BOY, does it get CRAZY in here when we do! If anyone was to walk by while we're in the midst of playing, they'd probably run for their lives and call the police! AND I won't even go into who can't go after whom because it becomes all out war at that point.
8. Insert your own random thought here.I have so much to do before Thanksgiving but I'm so excited about having at least two of the lovelies here that I can't do anything! Of course, it would probably help if I would get off this computer for a minute or two!
Next up is a HUMP DAY HOP from Patrice at
Everyday Ruralty called
Chats on the farmhouse porch!
Questions:
- Dreaming asks: What accomplishments make you the most proud? Our four amazing daughters who have grown up to be amazing young women!
- Suzanne asks: When did your family first come to the country which you now live? We were all born here but the arrival of our ancestors is quite varied. The most recent were my mother's mother's parents who came from Germany. And my mother's father's grandparents who came from Scotland. On my father's side I think they showed up around the 1600s and 1700s.
- Wendell asks: What's your favorite way to serve carrots? I love to roast them in a smidge of olive oil with some seasonings.
- Do you decorate with anything that has Santa or Father Christmas when you prepare for Christmas? Is there any other way?! I have an entire Santa cabinet! And there is a Santa tree topper on one of our trees and TONS of Santa ornaments. The other main feature are my nativity sets that I have been collecting for over 20 years.
- Do you prefer big dogs or small dogs? Something in between, maybe? I've never met a dog I didn't LOVE! I love big dogs, small dogs and all sizes in between! Dogs are great! Dogs are wonderful! Dogs are the BEST! I love dogs!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful baby! All the photos are beautiful (happy smiles) but that last one is just precious!
ReplyDeleteI love babies too - and then when they cry I give them back! :D
ReplyDeleteI can't use many power tools either, thank goodness the hubs is handy!
Those baby photos are wonderful. I can practically feel that little bundle in my arms, smell that new baby smell. Oh, yes! I love babies, too.
ReplyDeleteI admire people who can play card games...I'm hopeless.
Seems we are all most proud of our kids! Love that baby, he's precious.
ReplyDeleteThose baby photos are wonderful! He is so precious and beautiful! Don't you just adore babies?! Hope you are well my friend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous baby! I think hospitals are one place where a patient's family sometimes needs to get a little impatient.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you...my list keeps getting longer but I'm too excited to get anything checked off. Somehow it will all get done!
Beautiful photos, very cute baby :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Wednesday!
Hugs x
Love the new sweet little baby.
ReplyDeleteYes the hospital is the place to be impatient! So glad you had a great relationship with your grandparents. I loved mine but we just were never close like I would have liked to have been. I know that very soon I have to get off of the computer or we won't have Christmas here!
MT- Awesome! Who's was it?
ReplyDeleteJudy-Thank you! He's just the cutest little thing! And I get to be grandmother by proxy. LOL
Biz- That's the fun thing about babies that aren't our own- giving them back when they cry. Or stink. LOL
Stephanie- Thank you! He's so dang cute! You should come play cards with us--we have such fun whether we know what we're doing or not!
MKM- True but, what's not to be proud of?! The baby is such a cutie! And I get to be grandmother by proxy. I'll take it!
Diane- I am well, thanks! I've missed seeing you! I'm going to hop over your way and see what you've been up to!
Joyce-Isn't he?! And sweet too! I agree with you about the hospitals. I hope everything gets done! I've got to paint a room!
Eva- Thank you so much! He's a sweet heart!
Debby- Isn't he so cute?! My grandparents were the absolute BEST! We were quite fortunate to live close to both sides!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of a beautiful baby....I feel all gooshy!!!!
ReplyDeleteskinny-We had such a great time being all gooshy with him. LOL
ReplyDeleteI always found that impatience is a virtue when someone is screwing with your child and their happiness. It works for me.
ReplyDeleteAwwww what a sweetie! Wait until you have some grands of your own, your life will never be the same. All the love and none of the pressure!
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Oh those ate the prettiest pictures ever. What a sweet baby and the pictures just made me get choked up. I do that around new mommies. I like that you think your girls are the greatest accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your questions and answers. I hope you are having a good week.
I was going to comment on your answers to the chat, but I can't stop oohing and awwing over that adorable baby! Have a great week. I wish I was young and could have more babies!!
ReplyDeleteMichele- EXCELLENT point!
ReplyDeleteBetty- It is a lot of fun! Of course, some of us can't go before others...like, Hubs can't go before me cause I might get mad if he plays a draw or skip card on me. LOL
Sush- He was such a cutie! It'll be good practice!
FG- Thanks! We had such a great time with him!
Patrice- I thought about that too! Just one more...just one. But I would be way old by the time it turned 20! WAY old! LOL
You have an award waiting for you on my blog. See post labeled "My Very First Time"

:)
You need to e-mail me. I have something for you...can you guess?

Doodlebug! LOL Love it. Great baby pics. I love a variety of ornaments on a tree...but your question made me wonder about a tree with each and every ornament of a different form of Santa. Wow...that would be something.
