If you're here for Chats on the Farmhouse Porch or Get Wired Wednesday only, then scroll down.
First up is WEDNESDAY HODGE PODGE from Joyce at From This Side of the Pond. This meme is fun and sometimes even poses a challenge (read: she makes us use our noggins!).
1. What is something you are loving right now? Getting crafty with DoodleBug who has discovered her inner craftiness- something that is required of education majors. :)
So, I asked the lovelies to tell me their top three and listed two that they didn't:
6. What's the best chocolate something you've ever eaten? Puh-leeze. I've NEVER eaten anything chocolate that wasn't the best!
"How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said." Victor Hugo
Questions:
- Stephanie asks, "What kind of competitions do you prefer to watch? Dancing, singing, or cooking? When Deanie was dancing competitively, dancing competitions were my favorite. And our lives for YEARS. When DoodleBug was in band, band competitions were my favorite. And our lives for YEARS. All other competitions were sports related and they remain my favorites to this day. And number one on that list is FOOTBALL!
- My Kid's Mom asks, "Do you work? Are you retired? Are you a stay at home mom? I was a stay at home mom for 25 years. Best thing I've EVER done! I worked as an interventionist in the elementary school the lovelies attended for a few years after they were all moved out until the funding ran out. Now, I am a stay at home dog owner and wife trying to find my purpose in an empty nest.
- Empty Nester asks, "What's your favorite thing about winter? The cold weather that gives us relief from the heat and kills the bug eggs so the bugs aren't so bad in the summer. Except that this year winter forgot to show up.
- Homeschool on the Croft asks, "What do you love most about where you live?" The smell of the salt air; the nearly constant breezes; the sound of the fog horns on foggy days; the sound of the waves crashing on really windy days...it's hard to narrow it down.
- Did you or your children(grandchildren too) ever have a dollhouse? I had a Barbie house. The lovelies had a dollhouse. Several actually. And I may have enjoyed them as much as the lovelies did!
- Wendell asks, "If horses have blankets, why don't they get a pillow too?" Wendell, o most wonderful horse, you come on down to SC and I'll give you a pillow to go with your blanket! :)
We love Count of Monte Cristo too-that's a good one. I sent my student daughter a box for Valentines Day and included some 'teacher stuff'. It was so fun to shop for and took me back to my early days of teaching when you needed to collect stuff for your classroom. She doesn't have a lot of storage space right now so I can't go too crazy until she moves into a new apt this summer.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Good Morning! I'm adding some of the movies mentioned to my netflix list. As the mother of three sons, I missed a lot of lovey-dovey stuff when they were growing up. They weren't interested and I was too tired to stay awake for a movie then anyway! Also, what gluten free crust do you like? Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chat on the front porch! I enjoyed reading it!
ReplyDeleteHomemade pizzas, yum!
ReplyDeleteI stopped by to chat on the porch! I poked around your blog because I had to find out just where you lived; with the fog horns and potential bugs, and all! I used to live in Bluffton SC - 90 miles from Charleston. For a few years my job required that I travel to Charleston (and beyond) at least once a week! We were practically neighbors!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day! Inhale the salt marsh smell for me!
I can't resist a quiz LOL Apparently, I am Winnie the Pooh. I've long suspected that although I'm not crazy about honey. Does he like pizza?
ReplyDeleteLove your description of the air where you live...I love the sound of foghorns, too. I hear them most often at night.
Enjoyed your answers!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about the chocolate. There is no bad chocolate! I have an inner cynic too in an otherwise romanticizing optimist.
ReplyDeleteI’m YOUR newest follower now too!
There is NO SUCH THING AS BAD CHOCOLATE...been saying that all my life!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteWe are going to get together soon and hang out to chat. I just adore learning more about you and your wonderful family! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI agree, there are many wonderful love stories. While you were sleeping is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love you is a good one too.
So many good love stories to watch! I didn't think of "Gone With the Wind"! Gluten free pizza crusts? They've really come a long way with the gluten free products!
ReplyDeleteLove your #6!
ReplyDeleteI forgot about the movie While You Were Sleeping! That is right up there with some of my favorites.
I forgot about While you were Sleeping! Yes that was a good movie as well. Boy there a lot of good movies out there. I guess I need a sick day so that I can watch them all.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the chat on the front porch - inspired. I noticed that a lot of the films you picked were British too - marvellous!
ReplyDeleteHi kiddo. This is just a quick pop in to make sure that you're alive and well. Glad to find you were- on both counts.
ReplyDeleteGive Tucker a hug for me.:)
Yes, we're missing winter too. I enjoy my girl's dollhouses almost as much as they do. See you next week.
