It's so good to be back PLAYING around on my favorite Friday hop!
My BFF and her hubby went on vacay and I went out to take care of their kitty. Twice a day. Here's Sammy-
Cute, isn't he? And sweet too. Except that I ended up with the allergy attack from hell. No matter. I still love you Sammy! cough*sneeze
The allergy attack from hell prevented me from running for a while- I couldn't breathe and any exertion at all left me hacking up a lung. But I was back this week! I'm also back on the 30 Day Shred. Today is Day 4. And I'm still alive. So far.
I've discovered that the best way for me to run right now is the way Biz at My Bizzy Kitchen often does it- walk a song, run a song. It works great for me. And, sometimes, I find myself running two songs. I get frustrated a lot with the running because I feel like I'm never going to get up to running that 5k. But then I remind myself that it was only a few months ago that I couldn't run 20 or 30 feet. Now, I run way more than that. And I will run that 5k by Thanksgiving. I WILL. This would certainly be easier if I possessed any form of patience whatsoever.
I'm am revisiting Jilian Michael's 30 Day Shred. Today is Day 4 and I decided to try Level 2. What an idiot. I can't figure out whether I'm dead or dying but I'm pretty sure it's one of those. To add insult to injury? I went out for a walk/run afterwards with DoodleBug. Like I said- Idiot.
Yesterday, DoodleBug and I went to Mimi's (my mother's) to visit for the day. She wanted to see if she could take my new dress- that is too big for me- up. Three inches on BOTH sides people. The company doesn't have one in the size I need- and the size I nee does NOT have the letter x beside it! YES! I still have a long way to go, but I'm feeling pretty motivated that it WILL actually happen!
Completed the April A-Z challenge this week and then turned around and signed right up for the NaBloPoMo for May. WTH was I thinking? If you are
You have plenty of time to enter to win a quart of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil! Just go to yesterday's post which you can find HERE.
That wraps up the week! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
Yes, the kitty is ADORABLE? Running with an allergy attack? Oh dear. Hope it cools down for you!
ReplyDeleteMeant to put an ! not an ? after that first sentence. There is no question Sammy is cute!
ReplyDeleteIt was 80 degrees here yesterday (and humid) and I couldn't stand it. I don't know how y'all can take that heat!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making it through that A-Z challenge. That was quite the blog undertaking.
so sorry you're allergic to Kitty. :-( Sounds like you're well motivated for that 5 K. Good for you!
Congratulations on the dress size, that's amazing!!! Good luck with the kitty and the allergies, he sure is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteKittens are the best! But we have allergies at our house, too, and much as I would like to have a cat. Nope. Can't be done.
ReplyDeleteThree inches times 2 - that's six inches!! Wahoo! Good on ya, girl. No x's is clothes shopping heaven for me. No matter what 'they' say the choices just aren't there.
BB- The running is going ok. These last couple of days have been much better-it's hard for me to get the breathing right under normal circumstances. I just can't figure it out. Sammy is such a cutie- wish I could be around him more!
ReplyDeleteJudy- It's not easy at all! I would rather sit right here in the AC all spring/summer long!
JM- Thanks! The BFF is back from vacay so the allergies are settling down!
Stephanie- We had two kitties while the lovelies were growing up but, suddenly, I developed allergies to them. Luckily I only had them the last couple of years that we had the kitties. They were just the cutest things! Kiki and Jazzy! But no more kitties here. Only my little Tucky poo! :)
Oh dear, cat allergies! No fun, but I do love cats and am happy to live in their company. It cuts down on company though. Not everyone can tolerate them.
ReplyDeleteAnn- I love them too and I hate that we can't have another one...or two.
ReplyDeleteBetty- Thanks! She was able to alter it. It's still a little big but is wearable without looking like clown clothes. LOL
ReplyDeleteSammy is a cute one.
ReplyDeleteLove the little kitty! So sorry to hear about the allergy attack though, especially whilst you were trying to run. I know all about allergy attacks, and they're pretty grim. Glad you got the dress altered. That sounds like a great idea to me, to vary things a little - walk one song, and then run one song. Keep going Pam. I know you can do it!
ReplyDeleteWayne- He is a cutie! Wish I wasn't allergic to him!
ReplyDeleteDiane- I've got a LONG way to go but I'm working hard. Though, apparently, not as hard as you. LOL
Sammy is so sweet! I have a good friend, Kaline's "Auntie Sheri" who always brought cat toys for her when she was a kitten. Sheri also brought antihistamines if she was staying a while. She loved the kitten, but the kitten's dander didn't like her!
ReplyDeleteNani- He is just the sweetest! When BFF calls me and puts me on speaker, I will say, "Sammy boo! Foofoo kitty! Tell Mommy, foofoo kitty!" And he will meow to her until she gives him something to eat! It's so funny! I'll have to take something next time they go out of town, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteFor 11 years we had two cats and I was allergic to them.
ReplyDeleteI did pretty well if I didn't rub my eyes or put my hands on my face after petting/touching the cats.
Bummer when you forget and rub your itching eyes anyway!
Keetha- Oh yeah! I'm like that with one of our daughter's dogs. And I forget to wash my hands every single time. You think I'd have learned my lesson by now. LOL
ReplyDeleteNever had allergies until this year, hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Bella- I never had them until I moved to the coast 29 years ago. LOL But my kitty allergies are much more recent and I'm sad because I LOVE kitties!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a very nice weekend two, Good job on the dress! That has to feel so great!!
ReplyDelete90 will be our temps next week. :(
All next week. I am making the electric a very rich company.
Good job on the running, Oh and get better soon, that coughing thing is for the birds. :)I get that way too and it takes forever to go away it feels like.
He is very cute but I can't breath around them at all! Way to go on the taking in of the dress. I am very exciting to get out of the "x" size in the future.
ReplyDeleteLittle Sammy is a darling. Thank goodness I've never had to deal with animal allergies, especially kitties. Had four at one time.
ReplyDeleteI did my first 5K a year ago, my only 5K. I applaud you on your drive. I walked half of it and ran half, or rather trotted. Wish I could do it again but just don't have it in me anymore. Sticking to the bike, walking and trainer. Good luck, it sounds as if you are on the right track.
Please don't hate me for this, but I don't like cats, never have. I tell people I'm allergic to them, that is more acceptable in company.
ReplyDeleteOn the running, you're doing great! I run a bit, but some days I find I can barely put one foot in front of the other, others I run-a -bit-walk-a-bit. Might try the idea of running a song, only thing is I don't like things in my ears!!
anyway, you're fantastic to take on another chalenge, and your weight/inch loss is nothing short of amazing. You must feel great!
Sammy is a cutie pie. Almost makes me want one (almost). Sorry about your allergy issue.
ReplyDeleteHow's the Shred going? GREAT JOB on the lost inches! :)
Oh darn; I missed the beginning of NaBloPoMo!haha
Dang it! I bet it's too late to get the coconut oil. Off to find out for sure. Thanks.
