The good news--besides it being the weekend--is that it's time for FRIDAY FRAGMENTS with Mrs. 4444s over at Half-Past Kissin' Time!
I did get my focus back on running. I had slowed way down because of the humidity but, let's face it, where we live the humidity is not going to go away. So, it's time to buck up and do the running. So I am. And I'm not dead. Yet.
I also moved up to level 2 on the 30 Day Shred for three days. Yesterday I dropped back to level 1 due to that darn left leg issue. I refuse to succumb to injury- so I back off. Which is much better than quitting. I'll go back to level 2 on Monday. Or maybe tomorrow. We'll see. Today was day 16! I'm over halfway there!
Oh, and I lost 3 pounds this week! WooHoo! This is fantastic because that scale has not been very nice lately. Not nice at all.
We have been having some rather regular rain. That's right- RAIN. And the garden LOVES it! The tomato plants are up to my waist now! And that's tall!
Saw a snake on the side of the house where the pump is. Hubs was all like, "What was it? Just a little grass snake?" To which I replied, "Yes, but a snake is a snake so what difference does it make?" He was really nice and came home during lunch to turn the pump off and check for the snake. Nice but, no matter. I won't be going over there anymore.
Also saw the neighbor's dog catch a squirrel. Ew. I felt terrible because Tucker chased it out of our yard through the fence right where the neighbor's dog was standing. Watching. Waiting. Ew. No matter how annoyed I get with those little things when they dig in the garden, I hate seeing anything killed. Ew.
The husband, DoodleBug and I went to my mother's for Mother's Day. Breezy and BestSonInLawEVER drove down and met us there! Even though we missed Deanie and Birdie, we had a nice visit!
Deanie redesigned my blog for me. I was ready for a change. At first we went with some bright, bold colors but that just wasn't me. So she went with what you see here. Thanks, Sweetie!
Something new at the bird feeders this week---A HUMMINGBIRD! I'm so excited. Though I haven't been able to get a photo yet.
And that, my friends, is it. Hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!
Sounds like a fantastic week.
ReplyDeleteGail-It was a good one for sure. Until the snake. And the squirrel. LOL
ReplyDeleteBetty- I know what you mean about not feeling it. We just have to make ourselves do it anyway. At least we'll feel better afterwards. In theory. LOL I think I'm going to look for another challenge. Apparently stopping that was not the best idea I've ever had.
Love the new blog design! Keep up the running! You can do it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteKathy- Thanks! I hope so- some days I absolutely have to make myself do it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, a snake is a snake. A teeny grass snake is still a slimy slithering gross snake!
ReplyDeleteAw c'mon, Pam - a garter snake is a bit different from a 12 foot boa constrictor. lol But I know some people have a thing about snakes; others spiders; others, like me, MICE.
ReplyDeleteYour tomatoes sound wonderful. What variety did you plant? I raised Early Girl from seed (in the North, it really helps to raise a variety like that - well, usually), they all looked great, then after I planted them in the garden, only 5 out of 9 survived. wah. off to the nursery I guess.
Sorry to hear that sweet little Tucker aided and abetted the neighbor dog. lol
Have a great weekend.♥
I see a lot of wildlife 'in action' here : ) Just last evening I walked down to my mailbox and saw a dead something in the driveway. I could not identify it and pretended I didn't see it so hubs could deal with it when he got home. It was a part of a deer. ewwww. ew. ew. ew.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look!
Kim- Thank you! I knew I wasn't alone in this. LOL
ReplyDeleteJudy- I'm blowing raspberries in your direction---can you see me? LOL My tomatoes are cherry reds, better boys, big boys and beefsteak--I think. Tucker was so mad- he kept barking through the fence! They have three dogs so two of those were mad too. Everyone wanted that squirrel!
Joyce- I love that- pretended not to see it...I do that TOO! Unless it's alive, like that snake. Then I call and let him know I'm not happy. LOL Part of a deer IS ewwww!
We had a water snake in our pond last year. My son had to get it out and throw it into the woods. I think the entire neighborhood heard me scream!
ReplyDeleteYou're right a snake is a snake but around our parts we have rattlers and that's a big fat EW for me! Especially when we come across them riding or just hiking..EWWWWWW!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Friday wrap up, sounds like a busy week!
Congratulations on running. Me and running have a love hate relationship.
I love the idea of running but I hate doing it, therefore I don't.
A snake is a snake is a snake. Ewww! I'm with you. The last day in Myrtle Beach wouldn't you know a friggen snake slithered right in front of the slider when I was sitting taking a break. I was so grossed out. Hate them. Glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day. You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteKudos on the 3 pounds!! My scale broke, I now weigh 60 pounds. :) I forgot to tell my son that he went to weigh and he weighed 30 pounds he came in with a funny look on his face and asked me if something was wrong, I told him but I laughed and laughed. He said "that is what I weighed when I was 6"
ReplyDeleteI am okay with heat, but humidity, I curl up in a little ball and do nothing.
Oh you poor thing, I hate snakes, now every time I clean my chicken pen it disturbs the snake and he comes out. I tell you I am so freaked it is hard to collect eggs.
I just need to get one of my kids to relocate him. He is about 5 or 6 feet long. Perfectly harmless except for my heart.
Have a lovely weekend.
I love the new look! Well done Deanie!
ReplyDeleteAnd your tomatoes are up to your waist?!! Around here, we're just planting our seedlings this weekend!
Oh, I hope that Tucker doesn't feel too guilty about the squirrel. Nature can be yucky!
ReplyDeleteWe just planted our tomatoes out in the hoop house...and yours are that big already! The humidity must be good for them.
Tami- Whoa. That probably would have given me a heart attack!
ReplyDeleteSaimi- You're too funny about the running! Rattlers?! HEART ATTACK!
Barb- I might have said this before but- HEART ATTACK! LOL How's it going in Fla?
Kim- Too funny about the scale. I read someone's blog a while back whose scale was low on batteries and it read: OVERLOAD She was NOT happy. :) I'm afraid the eggs would NEVER get collected around here if there was a snake! EW
Kara- Thanks! Yes, the tomatoes are going nuts with all the rain! It's wonderful!
Stephanie- Nature sure can be! And I think Tucker was barking because he wanted the squirrel. Unfortunately. I don't know about the humidity but we've been getting rain with it this year, so far. Thankfully!
We could USE some of your regular rain 'round these here parts.
ReplyDeleteI'm a strange lady who loves snakes. Snakes eat pests.
I'm not saying I want a snake to SURPRISE me in my house or anything - - -
Congrats on getting back to running!
ReplyDeleteKeetha- I know. But I hate them. Really hate them. They can be there as long as I don't hear them or see them or have to think about them. LOL We have really needed the rain! I'm so happy to see it!
ReplyDeleteWayne- Thanks! How was graduation?
There are a LOT of ewe Friday Fragments tonight..yikes..Frogs, snakes and squierrels ewe is right!!
ReplyDeleteI like your new design:)
I admire you for running. I cannot right now because of a back injury but I need to not use that as an excuse and at least walk..
We have been getting tons of rain, the grass is green but I am hoping for some sun over the weekend.
Have a great weekend!!
