This one is easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy! The lovelies being little! Our family began in 1985 with Breezy; grew in 1987 with Deanie; grew again in 1988 with Birdie and, last but not least, once more in 1991 with DoodleBug. It was the best time EVER! Oh, and I guess you could add younger me and thinner me to that. Yep.
Yes. Rarely to never. Our library leaves a LOT to be desired. And this applies to book selection (especially their research area) and their employees.
Hard work, determination and desire.
This is another easy one for me- Bocce Ball! Of course, we usually play it at the beach more often than the backyard!
6. Do you own a bicycle? When was the last time you rode a bicycle? Is that something you enjoy?
7. What's your favorite cheese?
We will be attending a wedding this weekend. On Memorial Day weekend of all times-won't that traffic be fun? And Birdie will arrive home on Saturday! We can't wait to see her! Her sweet boytoy is flying out to drive back with her so she won't be alone for the drive. What a sweetheart! He's a keeper!
- What are you doing for Memorial Weekend? We will be attending a wedding. I know. Who plans their wedding for Memorial Day Weekend? AND it's at 6:00 pm on Sunday. Really? So that much more traffic will be on the road on Monday? Sheesh.
- What's the last old movie you saw? I watched The Bells of St. Mary's about two weeks ago.
- What color are the walls in your living room? Sort of an off- white. We had another color picked out but it looked HORRID on the walls in the living room. So, we painted the family room that color and the living room this off white. That color looks amazing in the family room. It's all in the lighting I guess.
- What's your favorite food to cook on the grill? Toss up here between shrimp and fresh veggies. Or turkey burgers. Dang it! Now I want to grill something.
- What's your favorite animal? Of course it's a tie between dogs and horses. I love dogs- they're so loyal and friendly and fun and snuggly. And, let's face it, who doesn't love a squirrel chaser...er, I mean, doggie.
But there's nothing more gorgeous than a horse! I love this clip from The Man from Snowy River--just move it to around the 2:23 spot for the BEST part (unless you want to see the whole 5 minutes or so):
Love you Wendell!
I love both Snowy Rivers. I have a horned Australian salle with poleys so I can ride like this...yes, I can ride like that...NOT!
ReplyDeleteYou make like to watch Slyvester. It's a good story with Richard Farnsworth and the girl who used to play Laura on Little House on the Pairie. One of my favorites.
Weddings are usually fun though : ) We went to a wedding July 4th weekend last year which meant more expensive travel getting there. Plus it was in Houston and Houston in July is HOT! But we had a ball and I hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteThat probably wouldn't be my choice for a wedding date, but I'm sure you'll have fun, regardless! So glad you get to enjoy some time with your girl! Her boyfriend does sound like a keeper...those are had to find!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd want Memorial Day for an anniversary date. Think of all the conflict that's going to cause. Oh well. Hope you can somehow avoid the worst of the traffic.
ReplyDeleteYour coffee table looks like mine, except that mine has a bit stainless steel bowl for Kevin's popcorn. :-)
That was a scary scene from Snowy River. Poor horsey. They are amazing, aren't they. My favorite horse is Hero, General Longstreet's horse. :-) Of course Bridger doesn't know I like anyone besides him. lol
I watched The Man from Snowy River so many times, I think I wore the tape out! What a fabulous horse movie!
ReplyDeleteI do like squirrel chasers too. Sadly, our pup has been raised in an area without squirrels - can you imagine anything worse? Well, I guess if we didn't have bunnies to chase, that would be torture beyond belief!
For me, it's a toss up between mozzarella and goat cheese. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd my favorite animal? That one's easy - tortoises! :)
Gail- I love both movies too. I'll have to check out Sylvester- haven't seen that one!
ReplyDeleteJoyce- One of the many things I like so much about you is that I can always count on you for to point out the positive! Could you move in with me for a while? Just long enough for me to catch your positivity? :)
April- They sure are hard to find! Luckily, all four of the lovelies seem to have found them though! I'm sure the wedding will be fun!
Judy- The traffic is going to be crazy because we have to drive through Charlotte, NC to get there. ARGH! And the husband is a terrible driver. Wonder if I can get some Valium before we go? That was a scary scene- I worry about that horse every time I watch it, but also so beautiful! Yeah, Tucker doesn't know I love anyone or anything besides him either. LOL
Betty- Right?! LOL Hey, I saw a segment on Sunday Morning a couple of weeks ago about the Betty's convention and thought of you. You can see the segment here: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7407676n&tag=mncol;lst;5 At least I think I got that right. :)
Dreaming- I know! I love those movies! What?! No squirrels?! You're right, without the bunnies it would be torture! :)
ReplyDeleteMMS- I like goat cheese in recipes and on salads but not just to eat out of the package. Someone told me it smells like feet so I have a hard time with it. LOL Tortoises! Birdie hung out with some on the Galapagos Islands her senior year in high school!
And now *I* am ready to grill, too!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWendell loved the movie clip. He wants to be Wendell of Windy Farm. We have no snowy river! He sends his love. He has been accepted by our two draft horses, so that tells me he is more well than not. They seem to shun him or mistreat him when he's sick. Boo! He and the boys were peeking in the chicken house the other day to see what food the hens had. Of all time for me to NOT have my camera!!! A wedding on Memorial day? I wouldn't, but nobody asked me anyway. Too much traffic.
ReplyDeleteOur children are close in age or at least our oldest two are. My youngest just turned 18. Where do the years go? Have a good Memorial weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's All Downhill!
I love those movies, I will have to get them now. When the first one came out I was still riding horses, so I went to the show to see it and I remember I just sat mesmerized at that scene. How in the world did that get that footage I wonder.
ReplyDeleteI loved all of your answers. You had your kids in between when I was having mind and I of course started having them in 1981 and stopped in 1995 That looks like a long time doesn't it. No wonder I lost my girlie figure. :)
Have a great day Pam.
we will hopefully grill for the first time this season--happy weekend--i enjoyed reading your answers!
ReplyDeleteI remember that scene from the movie. What a wonderful horse movie that was! Another one with beautiful horse photography is The Black Stallion. Coincidentally, I went riding last week. I grew up with horses but haven't ridden much as an adult. It was wonderful being with horses again.
ReplyDeleteYour library sounds somewhat like ours!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Memorial Day weekend wedding! What were they thinking? Our daughter got married the week of July 4,(Sat the 7th) and that was bad enough!
Liked your Hodgepodge answers. Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you. Be safe on the road and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhen we were picking wedding dates we tried to stay away from holiday weekends, but alas Katy is getting married Father's Day Weekend... It couldn't be helped, we live on the coast of Maine and the Hotel/Motel rates spike in July and August for the "high season" and with graduation and birthdays we were left with Father's day weekend... But what does that really mean?? We won't be able to buy excess ugly ties or cook-out tools during her wedding? Yep, that is probably the only ill effect... Done rambling now.
ReplyDeleteKathy- Our backyard neighbor grills all the time and it always smells so good! One of these days when he steps away from the grill and goes inside for a minute…LOL
ReplyDeletePatrice- Wendell of Windy Farm-that’s great! I can just visualize them now, looking in at the chickens! How cute! Yeah, no one asked me either. LOL
Cathy- I don’t know where the years go. Which is good because, if I did, I’d probably go get them back. LOL
Kim- I love them too! Those horses are so gorgeous! I was just graduating from college in ’81 and then grad school in ’83 with not a thought of kids or a husband…who knew? LOL
LP- We’ll grill at my dad’s but then we have to go to the wedding. I’m sure it’s going to be a nice wedding- I’m just a homebody.
Galen- It really was! I’m so glad you got to ride! I haven’t been on a horse since before college! I’d probably fall off now. Or break the horse’s back. :/
Kathy- It’s terrible! And I hate it because my grandmother was the town librarian when I was growing up and she had everything in there! Wow, July 4 weekend? That would be close to impossible down here!
Debby- Thanks! I think it will be…if we survive the traffic.
Rebecca- OMG. You live on the coast of Maine?! You are so lucky! I adore Maine- even though I’ve never been, it’s been one of my want-to-go to states since I was in the 5th grade and did a report on it. I love pictures of the coast and would LOVE to live up there! Cold and all! Hahahaha-you are hilarious! Father’s day doesn’t disturb the traffic around here so I wish they had picked it instead. Especially now…LOL
