Speaking of football, our high school team is undefeated this year. As I understand it, this is the first time since 1990. Go WARRIORS! Good luck boys!
It's been an interesting week of craziness but it all seems to be settling down. Though I will raise an eyebrow if the start of my true schedule coincides with the return of a certain kindergarten teacher. Funny thing about working- either things are crazy there or they're crazy at home or they're crazy both places but NEVER seem to be calm at the same time?
One of the lovelies' PHENOMENAL teachers in elementary school--the one who recently moved out to CA because she was going to be a grandmother soon? Well, she became a grandmother yesterday morning! Congratulations Suzanne on your lovely granddaughter! The baby is precious and Suzanne is beaming!
I spent two afternoons in a kindergarten class this week. Where I heard many urgent utterances such as:
- "He pushed me!"
- "I don't have any snack!"
- "I'M the line leader, NOT YOU!"
- "She kicked me!"
- "I think a bug just flew up my nose!"
Our temps have gone back up. It's too dang hot around here. Mid to upper 80s do not equal fall. Sometimes, we have to wait until the end of October for the true cool down. I hope that's not the case this year.
Did you know that Big Brother is watching in the school now? I found out when a friend said, "Be careful. Big Brother is watching us now. You have to be careful if you want to flip somebody off." My but I have missed being at school! LOL I'm not really too worried about flipping someone off though. But what if I have a wedgy?!?! HORRORS!
Hope y'all had a fantastic week but have an even better weekend!
Wow, your week sounds way more exciting than mine. :-) Hope you get a good dose of football this weekend, your weekend therapy. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. Freja June is just delightful! Your comments definitely brought back memories - some good, some bad...but that's life! Have a great weekend and hope your teams win.
ReplyDeleteJudy- I don't know about exciting, but exhausting sure does fit! LOL Thanks! I'm coming over to order soap!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne-We're so happy for you! And Erich! Thanks! Love you!
Guess what? It is going to be 102-105-7 next week. Some freakin weird perfect storm is coming in which will meet and cause a big heat wave. I would pack my bags but the mountains are going to be hot and the beaches around 90 so I guess I will just stay home.
ReplyDeleteHow does big brother watch you?
I am in agreement with kindergarten teachers being saints. I just had all of my grands here 6 of them. It and felt like I had a preschool.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Big brother cameras - part of today's world I guess.
ReplyDeleteHey Joe, look at this we got a wedgy on cam 6!
Kim- I thought about you when I wrote that and was wondering if you were still in the hundreds. YIKES! The rooms and hallways are on camera now, in the new schools anyway. It kind of sucks and, then again, who cares? LOL Wow, all 6?! And you're still up and alive? You must be one of those saints! :)
ReplyDeletebill- LOL You're a riot! Now I can visualize them looking at the video and saying that! LOL
they're cute until they learn to talk...hahhaha
ReplyDeleteCertainly you get in some football therapy this weekend. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI recognize that New Grandma smile on the face of your friend Suzanne. ;-)
Hope your week next week settles down and is better than this week.
What a precious baby! I can see why your friend moved closer to her family to love on that baby like that!! Hoping you are enjoying your Friday evening! I have to say any teacher, no matter what grade, has my respect. I don't think I can do what they do 5 days a week for 6 or more hours in the classroom; an hour of children's church on Sunday yields a 2-3 hour afternoon nap for me. Teachers rock in my opinion!
ReplyDeletePut your feet up, put the best football games on and ENJOY the weekend!
We're due for "oppressive heat" come Monday and Tuesday (over 90 at the coast, over 100 inland). I don't look forward to those days at all!
betty
I did part of my teacher training in a kindergarten classroom. They do say the funniest things sometimes - though they're too much of a handful for me to take on for long!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how anyone could be a kindergarten teacher and maintain their sanity! I find it hard enough looking after one ;-) Look at the bright side, even though your week was hard, it wasn't boring by any stretch of the imagination.
ReplyDeleteCameras in schools? OMG! Monitoring all those kids just walking down the halls doing the stuff that kids do. Eeew! Enjoy your camera-free weekend.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteCongratultions to Suzanne!
After listening to that all week, I think you definitely deserve football, with your feet up! I think kindergarten teachers are SAINTS! Especially the older ones; I wouldn't have either the energy or the patience for that!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this weekend too, cos no band, so a lie-in tomorrow! Yay!
