It's the end of the fourth day of my first week back to work at school and I've already become reacquainted with the importance of a few words/phrases/things:
- Friday
- weekend
- upload complete
- successful
- time
- end of the day
- end of the week
- elevator (No, I haven't taken it instead of the stairs but the temptation level is incredible)
- nap
- a box of tissues
- comfortable shoes
- a working clock (or a watch)
- patience
- a hair tie
- a bed time
- good friends
- sense of humor
- smiling
- pencil sharpeners
- pens with ink
- paper clips
Most importantly of all, I was quickly reminded of how much I have missed all these wonderful people at the school. I don't think there's any other school that has a faculty/staff quite like the one we have. And I do realize how truly blessed I am to be a part of this encouraging/supportive/loving/caring/funnyashell family of educators!
No wonder the lovelies turned out so great!
How nice!!! I love all of your words. I am so glad you have had such a nice week back.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome that you went back to school! Glad it's feeling good. :)
ReplyDeleteKim- Thanks! I'm glad too. Now, if I can just figure out how to not be exhausted every day...LOL
ReplyDeleteJessica- Thanks! It really is good. And exhausting. :)
I must have missed that you worked at a school? I guess I thought you didn't have a job outside the home?
ReplyDeleteOh,well, I am glad you enjoyed your first week and I bet it is tiring and you are looking forward to the weekend but it sounds like you are enjoying it too :)
Oh you are so lucky! I guess you've been in jobs where these sort of phrases aren't used, sadly what's where I am now.
ReplyDeleteLucy- I was a SAHM the whole time the lovelies were growing up and then took a job as an interventionist at their elementary school. Funding ran out after a few years but they just offered me this job last week! I'm so glad to be out of the empty house for a change!
ReplyDeleteMe- I wouldn't have been so quick to take the job had it not been at this particular school!
ReplyDeleteI always said the two most important qualities for being a good teacher are be flexible and have a good sense of humor! Enjoy - and love to my buddies at Mamie P.
ReplyDeleteWe are so lucky to have you back on our team. Getting back into the routine is always a challenge, but as we know you are up for it!! Welcome back
ReplyDeleteSuzanne- How are things out in CA?! Are you tired of it now and ready to come back home? LOL Those are definitely important qualities--both of which you possessed. Along with a whole lot more! You are missed by all!
ReplyDeleteJudy- I love it and am so glad to be back! Just being there with all of y'all make my days worth the effort!
I am so glad you are happy and loving your job. It makes life so much better when you enjoy what you're doing.
ReplyDeleteTake care Pam. Blessings my friend.
Ah yes I remember those days, especially remembering when it's Friday. Even hump day had meaning when I was working, especially if I wasn't happy in my job at the time.
ReplyDeleteFor my list I'd have to add staples/stapler, red pen, whiteboard markers, and stickers :)
ReplyDeletegreat list :)
ReplyDeleteYou see what I miss when I don't visit? You are teaching again! Yay you!
ReplyDeleteSchool is a whole other world, isn't it?
