1. In what ways do you indulge yourself? I don't really have time to indulge myself with anything these days. I do good to get up before the
2. Have you ever taken a cooking class? Any interest? What type of class would you most like to try? Nope. Nope. Although- Birdie and I have thought that taking a class together would be nice. We thought about a pastry class once upon a time. However, since I'm at school 5 days/week, there's no time for anything other than getting up before the
3. What does it mean to be a good citizen? Oh, I don't know...taking part in the community-volunteering/charities, voting, staying informed, getting to know community leaders...getting up before the
4. 'Tis the season of the political advert...do these ads influence your vote? Absolutely not. I have yet to actually see one because since I'm at school 5 days/week, there's no time for anything other than getting up before the
5. What's something you see today that makes you wish you were a kid again? All that gray hair I see in the mirror.
6. What's your least favorite cliche? Well, in the world of football, the sports cliches are numerous. But I'm going with this one: They have to stop the big play. Really? Wow, those announcers sure know how to state the obvious.
7. What percentage of your Christmas shopping has been completed? How does that make you feel? Completed?! Are you KIDDING me?! I haven't even thought about Christmas because I'm at school 5 days/week, and there's no time for anything other than getting up before the
8. Insert your own random thought here.I hope y'all know that I was just having some fun with the back at school stuff. I am, in all honesty, having a blast! Little kids are such fun and they can be hilarious! Even if they did breathe on me and get me sick. Little darlings just love to share everything. DoodleBug and Gibbsterrific and HannahBanana came over for dinner last night and cheered me right up! They sure are a cure for making you feel better. Thanks girls!
Another good thing----the weather has cooled down! When I walked out of school Monday and yesterday, I wasn't knocked back into the building by heat and humidity. Rather, I was pleasantly greeted with cool, nearly crisp air! LOVE ME SOME AUTUMN!!!
And that's it for this week's edition of the Hodge Podge! Have a great day full of laughter!
LOVE your answer to #5!
ReplyDelete#5-ha : ) Agreed! I didn't think of answering in that direction.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
Soooo...how early do you have to get up to get to work??? :) I'm enjoying not having to leave the house this week at 6:30 to make sure I get to school in time for 7:15 meetings!
ReplyDeleteI talked with a high school teacher over Labor Day, and she said she couldn't work with the little ones because "they leak". :D
Autumn in my neck of the woods (sorry for the cliche) has been up and down weather. My head is ready to explode with sinus pressure.
ReplyDeleteGray hair! YES! Reminds me that I need to buy a box of Nice and Easy coloring.
I laughed all the way through, especially at the butt crack of dawn, cause that's when I get up too. Oh yeah, I think they should have a rule at the press interviews after a game; if a reporter asks stupid ass questions, any player can tackle him and dunk him in the gatorade bin. THe announcers get tomatoes thrown from the audience during a game instead. :)
ReplyDeleteI just love reading these posts, Pam. They make me laugh and feel like I get to know you better. So glad to hear your weather has cooled a bit. So has ours: 18 degrees a few mornings ago. Argh!!! Maybe now you can enjoy what they call autumn down there. :-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your theme of getting up early to go to work! Too cute!! Glad to hear it is fall weather finally!! Now let's hope it stays like that for a bit and not dive into winter weather sooner than expected!! I'm with you about Christmas; I can't believe how fast this year went!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your Wednesday!
betty
I hadn't thought about it that way, but you're r9ight - my grays make me want to be a kid again! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat and my cold tolerance is getting worse as the years go by - I'm already at shiver-temperature!
Glad you are enjoying school.
ReplyDeletePam, you are so funny! I'm glad you are enjoying your new job--even if the kids breathed on you and made you sick! Feel better soon :)
ReplyDeleteThe gray hair is a good answer.
ReplyDeleteGlad your liking your job. I am enjoying some cooler weather too!
I love that you get up at the butt crack of dawn. The first time I heard my kids say that I about fell over now it is my favorite way to describe really early.
ReplyDeleteI love your answers this week.
Isn't the weather just amazing. I am so glad that we got to have nice cool weather the same week. It is almost like we live close together but we couldn't visit now because you are at school "5days/week."
Haha,
Have fun. :)
Glad you love your job and you got your cooler weather, you are just winning all the way around :)
ReplyDeleteKathy- Thanks! It makes for a fun response but the look in the mirror? Not so much. LOL
ReplyDeleteJoyce- Glad you got a chuckle! Hope your weekend is wonderful!
Small Town- I get up at 5:15 so I can walk the dogs and make my lunch, etc. But I only live 1.5 miles away from school. And I have to be there by 7:15. They leak alright. I remembered that the very first day in that room. LOL
Tami- I think everyone around here has the same thing. I know I do. And I'm not better yet! UGH.
Alessandra- Glad you got a laugh! I love your take on announcers!
Judy- Thank you so much! What?! 18 degrees????? Sorry girl, but around here, that's WINTER. LOL Brrrrr....
betty- Thanks! Glad you liked it! I hope this lovely fall weather sticks around at least through November. And then, when winter comes, I looking forward to some cold this year. We got NONE last time around. Though we could stand to be about 10 degrees cooler during the day.
Nani- I'm the same way. But, down here, the cold isn't that bad. The coldest average temps in the winter are probably in the 40s during the day. Very enjoyable!
Gail- Thanks! It's been great! So far...LOL
Kathy- Thanks! I couldn't believe how quickly I fell. LOL No worries, I didn't miss a single day and I breathed right back in their general direction. :)
Debby- Thanks! Glad y'all are getting some cooler weather too!
Betty- Adjustment? Darn right!!! LOL But I don't dread going in to school. I love everyone who works there so much. They're like my second family!
Kim- Girl, if we lived close enough to visit on a daily basis, I would quit that job right now! Glad your temps are cooling down!
Lucy- I hadn't thought of that. But you just reminded me I need to remember and be more grateful! Thank you!!!!
I am loving the cooler weather too, although my husband already wants to turn on the heat - what?!
ReplyDeleteLove the new layout - sorry I haven't stopped by in a while!
