AND
Y'all have to get over to Joyce's for the Hodge Podge. And, while you're there, read some of her other posts. You won't be disappointed AND you might read something that helps you make a final decision about something important. Like I did when she wrote about the little things being the important things. Thanks Joyce! (How many times can one blogger use the word 'and' in one post? Sheesh)
Four hodgepodges til Christmas in case you were wondering.
1. With that being said I think I need to dive right in to some Christmas related questions, don't you? Which do you prefer-pretty gift wrap with a bow or a pretty gift bag with/without a bow? What percentage of your holiday gifts are currently (as in right this very minute) wrapped in some form or fashion? I prefer pretty gift wrap with a bow--and I hand make all the bows that go on our gifts--because the lovelies still love to open packages. Currently, ZERO gifts are wrapped here. But that' s just because ZERO gifts have been purchased. YIKES.
2. What is one item on your Christmas list this year? A new camera--the same kind, a Canon. I have two lenses for my Canon and I need another camera so I can stop having to changes lenses every time I take pictures. I've missed so many shots because I have to switch the regular lens for the zoom. If I had two cameras, this would not be an issue. Right?
3. What makes a home? Lots and lots of unconditional love!
4. Motown founder Berry Gordy celebrates his birthday on Hodgepodge Day-November 28th. Are you a fan of the Motown sound? If so, who's your favorite Motown artist and/or song? Here's a list in case you're stuck. YES! ABSOLUTELY! WITHOUT A DOUBT! I LOVE me some Motown! When I was growing up, my cousin and I would use the hairbrush and take turns standing up on the ottoman singing along with and pretending to be Diana Ross. My but we could belt out some 'supreme' tunes...LOL Though I didn't care much for her after the group broke up. I don't really have a favorite artist since there's hardly any Motown group I didn't love and continue to enjoy to this very day and it's the same with the songs--which I love to sing along with LOUDLY (and badly- but I do it anyway.).
5. Red or green-which one is more prevalent in your closet? RED. It's my favorite color!
6. True or false-bacon makes it better? If you answered true, what's your favorite dish made with bacon? Yes if it's on a BLT. Yes if it's in a Cobb Salad. Yes if it's in my chicken pasta salad. Yes if it's...LOL Ok, YES!
7. Share a favorite holiday memory. Oh goodness- my favorite holiday memories are plentiful and LONG. Let's just say that one of my most favorites was the time spent helping my grandmother decorate for Christmas. If you're interesting in the long version- you can read it right here.
8. Insert your own random thought here.I can't seem to find much thought of any sort up there in the grey matter region just now. It's been such a rough week and a half for DoodleBug that's it difficult to focus on much else. Y'all know how it is, when your kids hurt, so do you. There is good news, though. DoodleBug did get a title one school for her student teaching and she will be in a kindergarten class of exceptional children. She is so excited. Plus, she's in her last week of school for this semester so she'll be home a lot more! I can't believe my baby will graduate from college in a mere 6 months. Wow.
We had a great Thanksgiving with all the lovelies except Deanie. We missed her. But she'll be home for Christmas! I'm hoping to post Thanksgiving pix soon!
Hugs to all!
Two cameras makes perfect sense to me. Tell Santa : )
ReplyDeleteJoyce- I knew someone would understand! LOL
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice on Canon. I buy nothing but Canon cameras as well as Canon printers. The quality is excellent all the way around.
ReplyDeleteOn my Christmas list is another iPad 2. I am not crazy about the 3.
Cheers.
Jeremy- I need a new laptop too. I have a temporary one and I HATE it. I want mine to get undead. LOL I do love Canon cameras- I've always used them. Good luck on getting an iPad2. I've never had one but I sure wouldn't turn one down!
ReplyDeleteThat is exciting where your daughter will be student teaching! You are right, when our kids hurt or are sad, we in turn are sad and hurt. Such a sad tragedy too :(
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you about unconditional love to make a house a home!
betty
I love my Canon, best camera ever.Gift wrapping? What's that? You mean newspaper is not good enough..lol
ReplyDeletebetty- She is so excited! And I'm excited for her. That child was totally born to teach.
ReplyDeleteAlessandra- Me too! Newspaper is really good for keeping shrimp frozen from point A to point B. LOL
My sisters (I have 2) and I would put white socks on our hands-up our arms (for gloves), grab hair brushes and pretend that we were the Supremes, too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteFor the quick shots I do love having my point & shoot which zooms quickly. Yes, pretty wrapping paper and bows. Enjoyed reading your answers. Keeping DuddleBbug in my prayers.
