O, the weather outside is frightful---because it's 7-freaking-6 degrees out there. Sheesh. The bugs are going to be worse than they have been in YEARS if this keeps up.
Anyway, the good news is that today is Tuesday and we can take a break to do some chattin' on Patrice's porch. Plus, Wendell the best horse in the WORLD might join us for a carrot or 50.
- Have you ever been on a boat? (Motor boat, sail boat, cruise ship, ark, or Good Ship Lollipop) Yes. We live at the coast so it's kind of hard NOT to get on a boat at some point. I've been on sailboats, shrimp boats, motor boats and fishing boats. I've also been on a cruise on a really big boat.
- Do you need an alarm to wake up in the morning, or do you wake up naturally? If you have an alarm, tell us what type.I have the alarm set on the television and my cell just in case. But they rarely, if ever, wake up before me.
- Have you ever had a yard sale? Yes. Loads of work for little money. But it does get the junk out of the house.
- Do you like kitchen gadgets? What are some of your favorite? Sort of. I liked them a lot more before I took this job that zaps me of all my energy and robs me of my time so that I don't want to or can't spend time in the kitchen. I love my Kitchen Aid mixer and all of the attachments and my juicer. I really like my pastry cutter thingy and my apple corer--that's broken and I need another one-- and my paring knives.
- Do you read labels at the grocery store? I do if I'm buying something with a label. But nowadays, I'm only buying things from the perimeter of the grocery store so I don't really have to read much.
It doesn't surprise me that your body clock wakes you before the alarm has a chance. :-) You've no idea how delightful 'living at the coast' sounds to a Northerner, who looks out and only sees snow. lol
ReplyDeleteIt stinks that your job is taking all your fun time away!
ReplyDeleteColletta
Totally agreed on the yard sale thing.
ReplyDeleteI've never been in love with kitchen gadgets. Those stores were never as much fun as a stationery store: pens and pencils! But I do love my hand blender and good knives sharpened by my chef son.
Doesn't it figure that the best alarm clock for me is a kitchen timer. The darn thing only has a tiny beep-beep and I spring up thinking the souffle will burn. Training as a domestic! A shrimp boat- cool! Wendell says 50 carrots would be great. I think he'd have a tummy ache. Do you know that some horses need to limit carbs to ones with lower sugar like grass or hay. He really doesn't get unlimited carrots. When he does, he gets kind of pushy. He's hurting today. He did something to his hoof. Don't know what, but he's spent most of the day lying in the sun.
ReplyDeleteA shrimp boat sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeletePity the job takes away so much of your enjoyable time, I feel the same about mine sometimes, even though I love the job!
Roll on summer holidays!
Judy- Me either, it's based on the fear of being late. Stupid pet peeve of mine. Which is funny because my BFF is ALWAYS late and so are Breezy and BestSonInLawEVER AND the husband. Maybe God is trying to tell me something. :) I want to look out and see snow!!!! Although, this morning I saw fog with a lovely waning gibbous moon AND, late this afternoon, when the fog rolled back in, I heard the fog horns from the ships in the harbor. Which was quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteColletta- It does. And, then again, I really love my job. I think I just like doing what I want to do when I want to do it and the job gets in the way of that. LOL
Stephanie- Hey, I love those things too! You should see the office closet. LOL I need some good sharp knives. What does he recommend?
Patrice- Oh no! Poor Wendell! I do hope he's feeling better. Wendell pushy? No way. LOL I really didn't know that about horses- interesting. Shrimp boats are ok but they do stink.
Mimi- They are fun but stinky. Really stinky. It is but I do really love it...once I get there. LOL I'd rather have winter break instead of summer. At least then I could go out of the house. haha
ReplyDeleteI would love to live on the coast! The other day we were at minus 52 degrees with the wind!
ReplyDeletemy aunt used to live on the Chesapeake Bay and I went crabbing a few times but never shrimping. Shrimp boats make me think of Bubba Gump
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of disappointed with our weather this year too. It's already 79 degrees and it's only 10:41am! We're supposed to get down into the 50's tomorrow but that's the lowest we've had. It sure would be nice to get a week of 40 degree temps to clear out the mosquitoes.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about my KitchenAid mixer. Love love love it!
