Secrets List

It's Monday and time to join Stasha over at The Good Life for Monday Listicles! Each week Stasha gives us a theme for our lists. This week, our topic is 10 little (or secret) things that bring you joy.

I am not going with the obvious things like the lovelies and Tucker and having a day off from school because, to be honest, they go without saying. Instead, today's selections are the things that I might or might not speak of. Things that not many people know. Things that aren't as obvious as family and friends.

Next week's list will be the 10 Dumbest Purchases.

All you have to do to join in with this week's list is click on the button!

TEN LITTLE JOY PRODUCERS:
  1. Time alone. Before I started working at school, I had tons of time to myself. Now, not so much. Today, I have the day off but the husband doesn't. I'm was giddy yesterday just thinking about it.
  2. Publix organic, chocolate ice cream. Does this one really require an explanation?
  3. Running. Well, maybe not the ACTUAL running part. BUT, afterwards, the elated feelings are packed full of energy and such a positive attitude that joy just can't help but show up. And it lasts all day long.
  4. Yoga pants. The first thing I do when I get home from school (after I ditch my shoes and let Tucker jump all over me) is shed the school clothes and put on my yoga pants. MOST. COMFORTABLE. PANTS. EVER.
  5. Storms. I have loved storms since I was a little girl. I still love them. They make me quite happy. Of course, I'm not talking about the kind of storms that cause people to lose their homes or their lives. I'm talking about plain 'ol thunder storms. The kind that evoke memories that bring a smile to my face and relax me and bring me joy.
  6. Having poetry read to me. I can't even tell you how much I love this. It's pure delight.
  7. Surprise text messages. The kind that, from the right person, puts a smile on your face that makes others wonder what the hell you've been up to and how you got up to it while at work.
  8. Witnessing karma in action. That's right. I do enjoy watching someone get what they deserve. Which probably makes me a candidate for a meeting with karma too. Crap. Didn't think about that.
  9. Moonlight. I love moonlight. I love the way everything looks in the moonlight- practically magical. And I quite enjoy dancing in the moonlight. And not just because of Van Morrison's, Moondance. I like other things about the moonlight too. But I try to keep this blog at a PG rating. PG13 at the most. ;)
  10. Photography. Maybe what I do shouldn't be called 'photography' but something like 'taking pictures.' I get especially excited when I have the opportunity to take pictures of birds and dogs. It's so pleasurable that I lose all track of time while doing it.

And now, you know. Sometimes, I don't come off looking too good after one of these list thingys.

Have a great Monday! I hope y'all have it off like I do!

  2. Good morning, Pam! Fun to read your list. Moonlight, photography, storms - love rolling thunder. Takes me back to an old LP, 'Come Saturday Morning...'♫

  3. I love your list. The best karma in action I've experienced was watching car get pulled over that zoomed by me like I was driving like a turtle. That's whatcha get! I relate to the whole list except for the storm part. I love the sound of a hard rain but that's about it.

  4. But it is a nice list. I like all of the things that give you joy. I am with you on the storms.
Well enjoy your day and yep yoga pants are the best ever.

  5. I like my alone time too. Running ditto. That combines alone time and running most days. Love it. Though running with friends is great too.

  6. I love storms, too. I grew up in TX and storms there are amazing. I miss them sometimes. Great list! :)

  7. I love storms too! They give me a sense of coziness that can't be replicated any other way. However, if said storm causes me to lose power, the magic is lost. :)

I hope Karma had her earmuffs and blinders on when you wrote #8.

  11. So, so, so agree with you on #1. I had to laugh out loud when my oldest granddaughter asked me the other day if I get lonely when Papa is gone (he's the grocery shopper/errand runner, so I can usually count on an hour or so most days where I'm home alone). As if! ha!

And, no, that ice cream thing didn't need any explanation.
