Losing is just something I do NOT like to do.
I don't like to lose when I'm playing a game of any kind. I don't like the team I'm pulling for to lose. I don't want the candidate I'm voting for to lose. I don't even like to lose a heated debate.
And yet, I'm ALWAYS up for a CHALLENGE.
When I was really little, I was probably one of those kids who would take her ball home if things weren't going my way. I don't recall being like that. But I probably was.Though I'm not quite that bad now.
As a matter of fact, I'm very proud to say that I've gotten much better in my method of accepting a loss. I am capable, now, of keeping my disappointment to myself. Sort of. As long as you can't read my face or my body language. At least I don't carry on like a lunatic anymore.
Mostly.
Now, I'm COMPETING (blatantly) for donations for RELAY FOR LIFE. I'm doing it for the first time this year with school.
It was just something I felt COMPELLED to do for a couple of reasons:
- My dad has just completed (successfully) treatment for prostate cancer
- the husband's parents lost their fight with cancer
- our family's dedication to cancer prevention
- my focus on the importance of fitness and nutrition in fighting and preventing cancer
- the fact that I hate cancer and want to do all I can to prevent anyone, anywhere from ever suffering with it again. EVER.
- the fact that CANCER SUCKS
So, because of my COMPETITIVE nature, I have to add one more reason to the list above:
- I WANT TO HAVE THE MOST DONATIONS.
So, IF you feel so COMPELLED, feel free to follow THIS LINK to my page at Relay for Life and donate.
FYI- the donations go straight to Relay for Life NOT to me!
BTW---Any ideas for 'D'??
i think i may be more competitive than i once was haha :)
ReplyDeleteLynn- I am still competitive. I just don't get in people's face about it. Not as often anyway. LOL
ReplyDeleteGood for you that you are competing against the evil that is cancer. That's a strong motivator.
ReplyDeletelynda- It certainly is evil as well as a strong motivator1
ReplyDeleteCompelled, competetive, challenged, challenging, competitive, and creative. Enjoyed your post.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to 'd'

Kim- It's vacation Hump Day. I'm already dreading Monday. Which is dumb because that's just going to ruin the rest of break. Sigh.
