I don't know how many folks can say that they love their jobs. But I can. And some of the reasons why are in the following photos:
One of my most favorite people in the world hosted a faculty/staff BBQ last night. We only have 11 days of freedom left.
We had yummy BBQ and chicken, slaw, mac and cheese...yep, it's the south and that means: CARBS!
There were introductions and welcoming of new additions--
Great conversation and eating---
There was MUCH laughter---
A birthday toast---
And birthday hugs---
A bit of posing---
And some posing avoidance-
A speech/announcement of more fun times to come...beach house in October, anyone??? YES, please!
And watermelon----
Eleven days, ladies. Enjoy while you still can! :)
Are y'all lucky enough to work with
Don't forget to visit me over at Grinding My Grits!
One last fling before the nose is back at the grindstone, huh? LOL Looks like y'all had a blast and great food and conversation. I'm sure the lone male didn't suffer too much. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to get together for a BBQ with you co-workers before work begins. Looks like you had a nice time and some yummy eats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time! =) That 'watermelon' looks yummy as do all the 'carbs'. ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Valerie
Judy- Yep. Last one. As a group anyway. It was a nice way to welcome some of the new faces. They are the best and craziest group of women. I adore them!
ReplyDeleteDebby- It was a great time! They are what keeps me going back. Well, and then there's the kids...LOL
Valerie- It was! I didn't try the watermelon but those who did seemed to enjoy it very much. :)Thanks!
What a awesome time you had! Pubic Schools start back here after Labor Day, however, I start school Aug 25. I had no idea you were a teacher! Blessings
ReplyDeleteIs there really only 11 days????...:)JP
ReplyDeleteLinda- It was so much fun! We used to start after Labor Day when I was a kid. But, around here, it has something to do with tourism and the need for cheap, high school labor. Go figure. We start the 11th but the kids won't be back until the 18th. At least they give us Labor Day off. LOL Yes, I teach and I am poor. LOL
ReplyDeleteJP- Yup. Sucks too. LOL
Looks like a great bunch of folks to work with each day. I am also blessed with a job I love and wonderful coworkers! It IS a blessing. What a fun party, and a great idea to start the year.
ReplyDeleteTerri- Absolutely! These are the people who keep me going. And it truly is a blessing, isn't it? I don't know what I'd do without these folks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to start the school year! I will have to remember to do this next year. It is such a positive thing to do before the hard work begins.
ReplyDeleteBetty! How are you?! So good to hear from you. Yes, this was just what we needed to remind us that we are there for each other and can get through another year. Together.
ReplyDeleteWell..us college kids (lol-at that thought..I am no kid-middle aged more like it) have to attend class on Labor Day. Yep.
ReplyDeleteLinda- Hahahaha! I'm in admiration of people who go back and get their degrees! My mother did that when we were all teenagers! Good for you!
