Anyway, I'm sitting here in the AC (for which I am truly grateful) linking up with Mrs. 4444 and her lovely Friday Fragments.
Here's the week, fragment style.
The week was long. And hot. Did I already mention that? Good grief. I LOVE fall- the colors (that we don't get), the cooler temps (that we don't get), the light sweaters and long sleeve shirts (that we don't wear because of the heat). Yeah, it's hot and humid and I am sick of it. No matter that summer isn't over yet. School started four weeks ago for cryin' out loud. Let's get on with the fall weather anyway. Sheesh.
We were supposed to start MAP testing on Monday coming but have had to delay it for another week. We have a new person in charge of this and she might have not done what she should have done earlier this summer and it's causing all of us to delay our fall testing. Thing is, she's not taking responsibility and I don't like that. I mean, I hate messing up but, when you do, you just have to take responsibility. Especially at that level. Whatever. If you're in education you're not in it for the money and you learn to go with the flow.
One of the cutest things I heard this week was from a four year old in our CD program...
"Yesterday, when I was 2, I held a rabbit." Not too far from the truth. Time does fly and they do grow up fast. :)
Is it Thanksgiving break yet?
Have a great weekend, y'all!
I pinned that kids sign - funny. I held a rabbit when I was little. After the rabbit was full grown (oh we brought home one from the fair once) it would chase the dog and scratch you if you picked it up.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's funny until they come back and never leave. Ha! We had a bunny once but it didn't make it. I like them but I don't seem to be able to take care of them properly. One of DoodleBug's teachers in elementary school had a bunny in the classroom that was trained. It was adorable. His name was Boo.
DeleteI am thankful for a/c too! We've had some very hot and humid weather this week too and I'm more than ready for fall too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's been crazy and there seems to be no end to it. I know it's still summer, but I just can't take it anymore. You have a great weekend too! :)
DeleteWe do wish our lives away, don't we? I always think of that on Monday, when I start wishing it was Friday already. I am SO looking forward to retirement, but it's 3 years away, for me. SIgh.
ReplyDeleteYes we do. My granddaddy always warned me against doing that and look at me, still doing it anyway.
DeleteOvernight our weather has changed. It was chilly this morning, hot in the afternoon and chilly this evening.
ReplyDeleteFriday is just about to be over and I am already hoping for it to be Friday again, fast!
I hope your weekend goes slow.

And that is when I get sick. Guess I'm not going to have to worry about that this year as it seems we'll be hot until FOREVER. :) Thanks!
DeleteI ditto the feelings about the heat and the countdown to Thanksgiving!
ReplyDelete:-)
Traci
:) Thanks!
DeleteHot and frustrated much? haha. I feel your pain. It's still hot here in the desert too. I'm soooo ready for Fall. "Yesterday when I was 2..." that's funny! "Yesterday when I was 29..." Hope you stay in the A/C this weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteI? Nah. LOL Yep, I've had enough. Hahahahaha! Yesterday when I was 29--what a hoot! Thanks! You too!
DeleteWe've been out running errands this morning. It's in the low-mid 50's and spritzing a little. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 70. Fall has arrived. Not complaining. I do like having four seasons, although like your summer, our winter could definitely be a little shorter and less brutal. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! I have had enough of this heat and humidity. It's like we can't breathe as soon as we step out the door. One of the main things I miss about living in the upstate are the seasonal changes. I do so love the changing colors. I'll just have to live vicariously through your posts. Put up loads of pix, please! :)
DeleteWe are going to be 103 degrees today! I am actually looking forward to Chicago next weekend so I might be able to wear a new cute sweater or two. Yesterday when I was two......too funny!
ReplyDeleteYIKES! That's hotter than here. You can keep it. LOL Have a great trip! I hope you get to wear those sweaters!
DeleteGirl, we are cut from the same cloth; wish we could get together some time. These cracked me up. This year, we'll be testing more than ever before: MAPS three times, a Tech skill test, and of course Smarter Balanced. That should be interesting....
