Bringing in the New Year with the Hodgepodge

It's almost a brand new year. And, shortly after, on the Day of Epiphany to be exact, I will, once again, turn 53. Good grief. It seems I age quite quickly. AND, the day before, we go back to school. I'm planning a temper tantrum.

Anyway, let's focus on the positive and enjoy some Hodgepodge posts!

1. Share a favorite moment from your Christmas holiday celebration. This is a hard one. I have three---when Deanie opened the quilt Birdie made her for Christmas; when my brother opened the photo book of the family I made for him; the time spent with my dad.
2. What would you say has been the biggest news event during your life so far? Probably the one I refuse to talk about because, move on already and stop dwelling. But I'm going to go with man's first walk on the moon.
3. The Pantone Color of the Year for 2015 is Marsala. What say you-like or no like? Would I find this color anywhere in your home or wardrobe? Will you add something in this shade to either? I would say, "Like." Or LOVE. Anything in the red family is ok with me! You can see this color in my home and my closet. I don't know that I'll add anything- I'm a spur of the moment purchaser so I most likely won't go out and purposely buy something just because it's that specific color.
4. Would you rather meet your ancestors or your great grandchildren? Explain why. My ancestors. Because I love ancestry and history. The stories mesmerize me for HOURS.

5. Share one life lesson learned in 2014? Sometimes, stuck, is stuck.

6. What was your best or favorite purchase made in 2014? What did I buy this past year????? I don't recall anything of special interest being purchased this year at all.

7. What is one thing you're looking forward to in the new year? Snow days! Shoot, I'll even take ice days- as long as we keep power. I love winter almost as much as I love fall. So, I'm looking forward to winter and fall and winter again. :)

8.  Insert your own random thought here. With the exception of me not being happy that school starts back on Monday, my thoughts are  with Joyce today as her daughter's special day draws nearer! Happy wedding day, y'all! I know it will be wonderful!

    1. I've enjoyed the slow schedule too. We've been in the mountains since the 26th and I am NOT ready to go back. Happy New Year!

  5. Happy second 53th birthday - I think a second birthday would backfire. 53 + 53 = 106 last I checked.
"This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors." - that BS came from the Marsala (who names this stuff) link. Do all the ad people come from another planet than ours?

    1. Hahahaha! Only you would look at it that way. LOL Could be. I always called that color wine/deep red/burgundy. Marsala is a chicken recipe, isn't it? :) Happy New Year!
