Happy Hodgepodge, y'all!
1. What's something that has recently 'tried your patience'? Well, I teach in an elementary school so, take your pick.
2. Do you think patience comes to us naturally or is it something you have to learn as you grow? On a scale of 1-10 generally how patient are you? (1=I blow up at the drop of a hat and 10=I've got all the time in the world). Patience seems to come naturally to some people, but I do believe that it can be learned as we grow. For example, I used to be a 1 on this scale and now, I'm a 2. LOL No, I'm about a 7 now.
3. Share about a time when you felt like you could fly. Or a time you wished you could fly. Or a time you felt like you were flying. I made a request recently that made me feel so free that I probably could have taken flight.
4. Your favorite song with the word fly in the title or lyrics, or your favorite song that relates to flying in some way? I don't have a favorite 'flight' song. Steve Miller's FLY LIKE AN EAGLE reminds me of a fun time in college and my silly brother. MIDNIGHT FLYER by, the Eagles is a winner, but I love nearly everything they did. I also love anything sung by Frank Sinatra including, FLY ME TO THE MOON and COME FLY WITH ME. But, for today, I'm leaning towards this one:
5. What's in your fall picnic basket and where are we picnicking in your neck of the woods this time of year? I like wine and cheese and various snacks in my picnic basket. I won't be picnicking in these parts in the fall, however. It's too hot and there is no fall beauty. I'd have to head north.
6. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping...which skill would you most like to possess and how would you put that skill to use today? All of the above. And I would use them to gut the bathrooms...No, I would remodel/update the entire house. Because it is in DIRE need.
7. What's something you think is too expensive to justify buying lately? A new car. Though I desperately need one.
8. Insert your own random thought here. Hey! It's this kid's birthday today!

Happy 27, Birdie! Somebody loves you, it's me!
As a fellow teacher, I get your answer to #1! Funny....your neighbor at the Hodgepodge.
ReplyDeleteLovely birthday pics of your daughter. Yes as a teacher you need more that your share of patience ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Birdie! Fun selection of cute pics. So glad your patience made it past level 2. Made me laugh. Hope it cools off for you pretty soon. Have a wonderful day, Pam.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Today, my patience level hit rock bottom. Oops. LOL We're expecting 40s at night! I'll take it!
DeleteGreat "fly" song choices! I love them all! And just a friendly reminder that you (and I) live in a wonderful place - with amazing beauty and people actually come here to vacation. Hot? Yes at times... but come February I will be anxiously waiting for heat. I love living in SC! Happy b-day to your Birdie!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded about tourists every time I leave my house. LOL I've lived in the low-country for 30 years but it has never become a part of my heart. I still prefer the upstate. It's nice enough, but I much prefer the beauty of autumn and the more frequent snow of winter that I had growing up. Heat and I are NOT BFFs. :) Thanks!
Delete"Fly Like an Eagle" was my choice, too, Pam! Happy Birthday to Birdie!
ReplyDeleteMy brother still tells a story involving me, him, some friends and my college dorm room. And that's all I'm saying. LOL
DeleteI can always count on you for some great song choices! Happy birthday to your Birdie : )
ReplyDeleteI do love me some music. It's been my saving grace on many occasions. Thank you!
DeleteI always enjoy your Smilebox compilations! Happy birthday to Birdie! Joyce gave us yet another fun Hodgepodge and I enjoyed reading your answers, Pam. Happy hump day!
ReplyDeleteI do love the Hodgepodge too! I plan on visiting everyone tomorrow! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your Hodge Podge.
Thank you! Times two. :)
DeleteGreat sideshow, birthday's are special, well for me they are special
ReplyDeleteTim keeps saying he wants a new fridge I want the one we have looked at and repaired can't see the point in all that expanse
Thanks! Yes they are! We had to get a new fridge, but I found one on Craigslist that some really rich person was getting rid of. It is brand new, they simply changed their minds. It's a $1500 fridge that we got for $500. Not too bad. :)
DeleteThat slideshow was just beautiful. She has such a beautiful smile...like her mama!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Aww, thank you, again!
DeleteI enjoyed your answers and Happy Birthday to Birdie!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll be around to read this weekend!
DeleteI'm with you on the wine and cheese. I think a new car was the popular answer this week. Happy Birthday Birdie!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I don't get a new car soon, I'm going to explode. LOL Thanks!
