School has only been out 3 weeks and we've already had the most incredible summer in decades! We hosted the baby shower, I met a blogging buddy in person, we went to Nashville to see The Wild Feathers play at the Ryman Auditorium, and now we are awaiting Baby M's arrival! Goodness, I don't think we can take much more. I should have retired sooner. Ha! :)
Now, it's time for the Hodgepodge! Which is great because I need a minute to calm down, relax, and enjoy the company of my wonderful blogger friends!
1. It's officially summer (in the northern hemisphere anyway). Which summer month is best and why? I'm going to go with July because that's when Baby M is coming! She will be the fourth July birthday in the family. We're all hoping she comes on the 4th because that was my dad's mother's birthday and we'd love to have Baby M share it.
2. Can you swim? Yes. How did you learn? I have no idea. I'll have to ask my parents. June 27th is National Sunglasses Day. How many pair do you own? Just one. They're Panther sunglasses. :)
3. What characteristic do you judge most harshly in yourself? Selfishness. How about in others? Stupidity.
4. Robert Frost wrote the now well known poem entitled The Road Not Taken. What's a road (literal or figurative) you've always wanted to travel, and where do you hope it takes you? The road to true love. :)
5. Popsicles-yay or nay? I used to love them but they are a bit too cold on my teeth anymore. If you answered yay, what's your favorite flavor? Cherry, of course.
6. Brexit-on a scale of 1-10 how knowledgeable are you on what's involved here? (1=very knowledgeable and 10=what's Brexit) Probably about a 6. Is this news you'll follow or is it something you think won't impact your life in any way shape or form? I doubt I'll follow it any more than listening about it when it's covered on the national news. I'm not convinced that it will have as much impact as some think it will.
7. Share a favorite song on your summer play list. How 'bout this one:
8. Insert your own random thought here. Y'all, we had the BEST WEEKEND EVER! I have several posts coming up about the whole thing but, simply put, The Wild Feathers played The Ryman on Saturday and it was INCREDIBLE! Most of you know that Daughter 2's boyfriend is the drummer in the band. We are still reeling from the experience! Stay tuned for a recap! We even got to go to the sound check and stand on stage! At the Ryman Auditorium!
I can't even imagine how standing on that stage must have felt!! WOW!! How exciting for you all! I have included Wild Feathers in my Spotify lineup and enjoy their sound. It was great meeting you in person AND meeting Molly too! Had a great time at Water's Edge with you. Can't wait to hear that Baby M has arrived!! Hugs.
It was AMAZING! We're still talking about it. We are also still talking about how great it was meeting you and Joe! That's going to be the first post that goes up in my summer line-up. :)
Sounds like you're having a wonderful summer! I loved visiting the Ryman Auditorium! There's so much history there--and, we, too, stood on that very stage, in the spot where the circle of floor is missing. Kathy (Reflections)
It was so awesome! And knowing the band made it even more special. They were great! The whole place was on it's feet and singing along. Such a great moment!
I can't wait either! We're all driving Reni nuts from asking her several times/day how she's feeling and if she feels different. LOL I'm taking her to lunch after her appointment tomorrow. I ordered a rug kit. I'm going to need direction. I'll be in touch....:)
Like your answer.....The road to true love! Summer Breeze, what a great song choice. So glad you had such a wonderful time with the band. Can't wait to meet your grandbaby!!!!
Thanks! We're still hoping she comes on the 4th but we know she'll come when she's ready. I'll be posting pictures. Y'all are going to be sick of them! :)
Your summer is just packed!! So far so good, huh! You've got us all excited about Baby M. I sure hope she makes her debut on July 4. What fun that would be. And fireworks for every birthday!!!
So far so good, YES! I'm having a blast! I hope she does too- keep us in your prayers for safe and uneventful delivery regardless of the date, please. I just had breakfast with Reni and she's on her way to her doctor's appointment. Fingers crossed! :)
I learnt to swim as a child my parents paid for swimming lessons through the school although I am a weak swimmer as it is not something I do very often.
I remember being on swim team but I never came in first. Third a couple of times but I was never meant to swim competitively. I prefer a tube on the lazy river. LOL
Being a transplant to the low-country of SC for 31 years is still not long enough to be called a ‘benyeh.’ If I stay until I’m dead I’ll probably go a ‘comeyeh’ since I am, originally, ‘from off’ (which is the upstate but, rules you know). By day I take care of my sweet little granddaughter, Baby M and do all those things I did when I was a SAHM raising four daughters which has translated to, ‘by day, I am exhausted.’ By night I blog, blog, blog, and blog some more or I sleep, depending on my level of exhaustion (do they still make Geritol?). I have a very unhealthy addiction to sweets (nearly any kind will do) and all comfort foods not covered under the ‘sweets’ category. I’m known for speaking my mind so, if you don’t want to know, don’t ask me. I love to find the humor in my empty nest life. I live life hard and smack into that brick wall almost daily because I’ve always had to learn the hard way. Why change now? I’m so glad you’ve come to laugh with me as I do this middle age, empty nest thing like a BOSS!
