Guess what, y'all? In case you missed it, Baby M arrived since the last Hodgepodge! And guess what else? She's PERFECT! :) So pull up a chair, enjoy the Hodgepodge and then enjoy the pix of my very first grandchild at the end. I went easy on y'all today- only a few pix. You're welcome. :)
1. Do you find yourself influencing your world, or is it more the other way around? I find that it goes both ways. And I like it like that. While I do have influence in (over?) my world, I can be influenced by those around me. I am always open to learning and listening to other points of view. Though, I must admit, I can be quite stubborn and do some serious influencing from time to time. Ha! With influence comes great responsibility. Just looking at someone wrong can turn their day sour. Y'all know what I mean?
2. July 14th is National Tape Measure Day...the device was patented on this date in 1868. When did you last use a tape measure? I'm not sure but DoodleBug used one to measure her classroom to play around with designs she might like better. Do you always know where to find one in your house? Yes! And if anyone uses one and fails to return it to it's rightful spot...I influence them. LOL Tell us one way in which you feel blessed 'beyond measure'. My first grandchild, who is now 6 whole days old makes me feel that way!
Yes, they put a Clemson hat on her the day she was born. :)
3.The Plaza Hotel (Eloise), The Land of Oz (The Wizard of Oz), Narnia (The Chronicles of Narnia), The Hundred Acre Wood (Winnie the Pooh), Wonderland (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), or Never Never Land (Peter Pan)...which storybook land (on this list!) would you most like to visit and why? I think I'd go with Wonderland because NEVER a dull moment there. But, if I was taking sweet Baby M with me, I'd choose the Hundred Acre Wood because who doesn't love those sweet characters?
4. Where and when do you get your best ideas? At any totally random, inconvenient time. From my head.
5. So what have you been watching on TV this summer? I've been binge watching on Netflix and Hulu. Anything good? That depends on what you like. I've caught up on SCANDAL and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER. I'm also up to date on all the British detective shows and cannot wait for new episodes!
6. 'Don't swim for an hour after you eat', 'Dog days of summer', 'Knee high by the Fourth of July'...choose a summer saying from the list or share one of your own, then tell us what image or memory comes to mind when you hear it spoken. I'll go with "Dog days of summer" because I'm living them right now. It's hot, folks. Unbearably hot. Ridiculously hot. I can't freaking stand it hot.
Found somewhere on Pinterest...quite appropriate.
7. In a single sentence, sum up one life lesson you've learned. I'll let these guys say it for me, since they do it so well:
8. Insert your own random thought here. Y'all probably knew this was coming...get ready to be inundated with baby pix. From now to the end of time. LOL Baby M arrived on July 7 and the lovelies and I are way more than over the moon!
I guess we'll all have to get used to the Clemson attire. Haha!
Oh were there hodgepodge questions in the post? Your beautiful granddaughter was a perfect distraction to the rest of the post. But I will say you picked a great Rolling Stone song.
Congrats on baby M! She is beautiful (even with orange on, instead of garnet) What a thrilling time!! Enjoy your time this summer with her and the other lovelies.
Hahahaha! I have so many USC friends who have made similar comments. If I didn't think her parents would skin me alive, I'd put her in some garnet just for a pic or two. LOL Thank you! I will!
I have been out of the blogosphere for ages and just happened to pop on some blogs from my past, today and how exciting, your first grandchild and she is adorable. Congratulations!!!! I know you have got to be just totally over the moon and way up in heaven, enjoy :)
Being a transplant to the low-country of SC for 31 years is still not long enough to be called a ‘benyeh.’ If I stay until I’m dead I’ll probably go a ‘comeyeh’ since I am, originally, ‘from off’ (which is the upstate but, rules you know). By day I take care of my sweet little granddaughter, Baby M and do all those things I did when I was a SAHM raising four daughters which has translated to, ‘by day, I am exhausted.’ By night I blog, blog, blog, and blog some more or I sleep, depending on my level of exhaustion (do they still make Geritol?). I have a very unhealthy addiction to sweets (nearly any kind will do) and all comfort foods not covered under the ‘sweets’ category. I’m known for speaking my mind so, if you don’t want to know, don’t ask me. I love to find the humor in my empty nest life. I live life hard and smack into that brick wall almost daily because I’ve always had to learn the hard way. Why change now? I’m so glad you’ve come to laugh with me as I do this middle age, empty nest thing like a BOSS!
She is gorgeous and you just enjoy every minute of loving her and spoiling her rotten, as all good grandmas do : )
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I plan on being a very good grandma. LOL She's so sweet! I just can't get enough of her.

ReplyDeleteYes, I'm tricky like that. LOL I do like that song. And it has certainly held some truths, hasn't it?
