Not Your Average Joe
I've been wanting to share this place with y'all for a while now and what better time to head over there than when treating these two for breakfast before they headed back to Nashville?
This quaint little coffee shop, called Metto Coffee and Tea, is the BEST place in Mount Pleasant to go for coffee. The. BEST.
I am super picky about my coffee. I cannot stand the taste of Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts coffee is right up there with their donuts- NO thank you. I nearly spit Dunkin Donuts coffee out all over the car the first (and only) time I tried it. Gas station coffee? No. Krispy Kreme? No to the coffee. YES to the donuts. Anyway- I’m so picky that I just buy my own coffee- Trader Joe’s organic espresso blend- and french press it at home.
A few weeks ago, Breezy wanted to get some coffee from Metto and asked if I wanted some. I decided to go ahead and try it, even though I was sure it would not be good. I was wrong. Very, very wrong. Their caramel latte with an extra shot is my go-to coffee now.
It’s not a huge place, it’s actually tiny and quaint, but it’s really cute and inviting and the people are so friendly.
AND, they have food that is delicious, too! I’ve had their quiche and it’s perfect! The taste and texture are just right. Y’all know you either do quiche right or you don’t. Metto does it right.
They have a turkey and cranberry panini that is a flavor explosion your mouth. Their chicken salad is delicious too- and I’m picky about chicken salad. There are other options but those are the one’s I’ve eaten.
They also offer pastries.
Deanie and DrummerBoy shared a cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing. Oh, my! So good!
I’ll bet, y’all, their tea is great too and I can’t wait for cold weather to try their hot chocolate! AND, they make smoothies!
Bottom line: Metto Coffee and Tea is a lovely little coffee shop in our town that serves the BEST coffee and good food with friendliness and smiles. Will I go there again? Oh, yes! Would I take visitors to our town there? YES! It’s cute, the employees are super friendly, the coffee is perfect, the food is good...it’s a go-to place for me! OH and, did I mention the prices are quite reasonable?

That sounds like a good place and the prices seem pretty good too. No, no coffee places here, no, wait, Brandy's Cup of Joe just opened...haven't tried it. She does have people waiting outside on a daily basis though...smiles
ReplyDeleteIt is a good place. I hope the people waiting in line at Brandy's are there because it's so good and not just because it's the only one. LOL
DeleteWe have two really good coffee shops in downtown Lakeland, Mitchells (which looks a lot like your Metto) http://www.mitchellscoffee.com/ and Black & Brew http://www.blackandbrew.com/home/. Yum to both. I'm with you on Starbucks & Dunkin, by the way.
ReplyDeleteBlack and Brew---LOL That's a punny name. :) I almost spit that Dunkin coffee out all over the car. Disgusting. Starbucks is slightly less disgusting than that. LOL Hope you're having a great week!
DeleteI've only been to one place with my BFF...in fact, I need to send her a text!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteDo it! I love the time I get with mine. :)
DeleteI am not your average Joe either I am Jo not Joe and I am not average, ok that is a lie I am pretty much average, as in run of the mill type of person
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Yep, I'm the same type of person. But I don't like my cup of Joe to be average/run of the mill. :)
DeleteThere is a nice little coffee shop here in town that sells books. It is called The Milam Street Coffee Shop. But you know what they sell that is better than books, well, okay, as good as books? Blue Bell ice cream! That is what I go to the coffee shop for. I don't drink coffee. I can sniff it all day long. It smells great, but I don't like the taste of it. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post. You've made me hungry. Have a blessed day!
