Crazy is as Crazy Does

Some days are filled with work. Some days are filled with fun. Some days are filled with 4 generations in the same house. And that's just what we had yesterday.

Did I bother to get a group picture? Did I bother to be IN a picture? That would be a no to both. But it was such fun and I enjoyed talking to my sweetest most wonderful cousins who brought Aunt Betty down to Mother's so much I just didn't pay as much attention to taking pictures as I should.

I did take a couple of pictures, though.

The oldest and the youngest.

That's my Aunt Betty with Baby R. Aunt Betty is Mother's one and only sibling and she still holds the title of World's Best Aunt after all these years. Aunt Betty will be 90 next year. She doesn't look it, does she?

Three generations.

Trying to take pictures when the subjects include a toddler and a baby is interesting, to say the least. But the adults get a kick out of it.
Of course, the grands fast became the center of attention.

Aunt Betty is Bug and Baby R's great, great auntie. And she brought bunnies.

And those bunnies were a BIG hit with the littles.

I don't know what Aunt Betty said, but it sure was funny!

Aunt Betty is awesome, isn't she?
Our family is like this. The kind who decide on a random day to take road trips from two ends of the state to meet in the middle just to visit for a couple hours. To take a minute and remember what's really important in life. To take and spend time with one another. To recant tales of days gone by. To remember loved ones gone ahead of us. To laugh until we ache in that good way you do when the laughter is true and deep. To look around the room and know the comfort, the joy, the crazy, the love, and know you wouldn't trade any of it for any other family in the world because this is your perfect fit. And to share this with the youngest members and know they will be loved deeper and truer all their days gives us such joy and peace.

We got all kinds of crazy in our family tree but that's ok. It's our crazy and none of us would have it any other way.

  1. What a lovely day of memories created! I also forget to take those 4 generation pictures when I should. I'd ask my hubby to take them, but he tends to cut off the tops of our heads or stand so far back that the people are second to all the background. Oh well, much more fun to BE in the action. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hahaha! Two of us are pretty good at taking the pictures but I have the same issue when the man takes them. But yes, it is more fun to BE in the action. Thank you!

  2. The pictures are great to help keep the memory of event and people going. However, I do think you can go overboard on the pictures/movies and miss the fun of the event.

  3. Such precious pictures. I love seeing all of those happy faces. The other night Ron was getting into hard drive of long past hard drives. He found old pictures and videos. I got so depressed I tell you. Time has gone so fast. Enjoy every single bit!!

    1. Thank you! I tend to do that, too when I get into those super old photos. I miss my grandparents and the simplicity of my own childhood all the time and the photos bring back all those great memories and then my mind goes to me not being as good a daughter/granddaughter as I could have been and then...well, you know. I'm hanging onto these grandbabies, though! :)

  7. Haha! She's always been my favorite and my girls love her as well. I'm so glad my grands have the opportunity to know her. Our older family members are such treasures and I hope it's the same way when I'm the older member. LOL
