What's really fun? The Hodgepodge! Won't you join us today if you haven't already?
1. On this first official day of spring tell us something (besides the weather) you're looking forward to in this season of the year. I'm looking forward to the end of spring and the end of summer. These are the two seasons that try to kill me every year as they attack my allergies and bring the dreaded oppressive heat. There is a birthday this season, NashvilleDaughter and spring always brings fond memories of my grandmother who loved spring and had a spring birthday. Other than that--
2. When it comes to spring cleaning would you rather wash windows or wash baseboards? Windows. Clean out closets or clean out the garage? Closets. Dust ceiling fans or dust bookcases? Either. Wipe down the patio furniture outside or wipe down the light fixtures inside? Nearly anything INSIDE! Any of these tasks recently completed? Not really but the windows are screaming at me and the closets can just shut up.
3. Your favorite thing to make/eat that calls for cream cheese? Cheesecake! Sour cream? My cheese sauce for veggies or that yummy sour cream and onion dip that tastes so dang good with potato chips and I'm not supposed to eat. Whipped cream? Just give it to me straight up especially is it's homemade. LOL
4. I read here a list of commonly mispronounced words. What is a word that gives you trouble when it comes to pronunciation? Well, according to the link I should just stop talking because I mispronounce everything. Ha! The one I knew I couldn't pronounce is gyro. I won't even order it because I can't pronounce it even when I hear it I always forget.
5. What's a song you love with the word 'rain' in the title or lyrics? There are several I enjoy but this one popped into my head first so it wins for today:
6. Insert your own random thought here. I read Dr. T Berry Brazelton passed away on Tuesday. He was such a wonderful man and my role model because as a developmental specialist he was spot. on. He was the only developmental specialist I gave credence to while in grad school studying early childhood development. I wish I had known him personally. Happy travels, Dr. Brazelton.
Have a great rest of the week, Y'all!

How about some Rae Dunn inspired coasters?
I have loads of other coaster sets, too!
I'm still using the gorgeous coasters I got from your Etsy shop. Even though they have Christmas trees, they're my favorites and I'll not pack them away. So sorry that spring and summer are miserable there. We still have piles of snow. Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are enjoying the coasters! Those sold out so quickly and I had to make several sets for local friends. They are my favorites to make. Most people love spring and summer here. Shoot, most of them love it here year 'round. I just prefer seasonal changes and a break from sneezing. LOL I think I'd get sick of seeing snow if I had as much as y'all do but at least I wouldn't sneeze all day every day. :) Give those kitties a pat or 20 for me.
DeleteSo sorry you're not looking forward to the coming season. I can understand why but isn't it interesting how we're total opposites because of where we live.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting. I do miss seasonal changes. We just don't seem to have them here anymore so my allergies are acting up way more than ever before. I may have to resort to some type of pill but I hate doing that. I can always enjoy the pretty spring colors from inside. LOL
DeleteApparently, I should just be quiet. According to that list I don't pronounce much right. I would beg to differ on a couple of them, however. If EVERYONE pronounces them wrong, then shouldn't that become the correct and accepted way?
ReplyDeleteYes! Excellent point! LOL
DeleteT Berry Brazelton, that's a name I haven't heard in ages. Sorry to hear of his passing.
ReplyDeleteI thought he was brilliant. He was 99 years old!
DeleteYes, all too soon, the oppressive heat (and bugs) will be a part of our daily lives. I'm not looking forward to that either!
ReplyDelete"Talk to the hand"... I love it! That's how I feel about most household chores, these days. Ha!
Enjoy your day,
Kathy (Reflections)
I think I'd rather just hire someone to come in and do my spring cleaning from now on. LOL
Delete"Not really but the windows are screaming at me and the closets can just shut up." I must admit that I laughed out loud when I read that!! Also, I haven't heard T Berry Brazelton in many years!! Wow - he lived to be 99!!
ReplyDeleteI think it may be time to try and hire someone to come in and do my spring cleaning for me. I like it less now than I ever did and I never liked it so... LOL Isn't that incredible? 99 years!
DeleteI loved Dr. Brazelton too. He had such a warm, gentle manner. Enjoy your week, Pam.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he? Thanks!
DeleteOhhh, that dip! I forgot about it. Yikes, dangerous for sure! I loved Dr. Brazelton too.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting some all day. I'm going to have to give in and go get the ingredients soon.
DeleteEurythmics - good song pick. Just wondering did the thunder disturb the little ones you watch?
ReplyDeleteI'm awful at pronouncing words. I was very conscious of it when I spoke in business meetings.
That really sucks about Spring and Summer :( Love your answers for cream cheese, sour cream and whipped cream. I finally learned how to say gyro and I do love them. That's sad news about Dr. Brazelton, I had one of his books when I was raising the kids.
