And now, the most wonderful thing of the day, the Hodgepodge!
1.Describe your 30's in one sentence. If you're not yet 30 tell us one thing you hope to accomplish once you hit that particular decade. Ok, it's more than one sentence but this was my 30s--just focus on the last sentence:
2. Is it harder for you to exercise or eat healthy? It's harder for me to exercise. I've lost my motivation but I am trying to get it back. Usually, I just wait for it but I really feel it needs a nudge because I feel ready but I just can't do it. Helpful hints welcomed.
3. June 7th is National VCR Day. Huh? Anyway this reminded me of something I saw on Facebook listing household items we no longer have and the VCR was on it. I couldn't put my hands on that list, but found another list here of 21 items we all had ten years ago, but which are now obsolete-
bookshelves (WHAT!!???), drip coffee makers, alarm clocks, file cabinets, desktop computers, printers, printed phone books, answering machines, fax machines, paper shredders, a Rolodex, CD racks, CD burners, china cabinets, home phones, entertainment consoles, DVD players, calculators, takeout menus, incandescent light bulbs, and cable TV
Your thoughts? Ah, the evolution of junk... er, uh...I mean technology and the crap it leaves behind. How many on the list do you still have? I have bookshelves in every room in my house except the bathrooms. I also have a printer (how else would I print out shipping lables when someone buys something from my Etsy shop?), a home phone (just in case), a DVD player, and takeout menus (but only because they're stuck in a drawer and I haven't thrown them out.) Still use? I use the printer and the DVD player, although rarely and the bookshelves because they hold my gazillion books.
4. What's something you see disappearing in the next ten years? Gosh...car keys? Jobs that can be done using AI? Our privacy?
5. How did you celebrate your birthday this past year? By enjoying the SNOW! Is that typical? I live in Charleston, SC so, NO.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I went out with some of my friendlies yesterday to see, BOOK CLUB. I'm still laughing, Y'all! So funny and I loved the cast. We had the best time. Oh, NashvilleDaugher said yes to her wedding dress which I wrote about HERE.
And this person whom I LOVE:
Did you see him watch the Royal wedding?
Kaylen, you crack me up!
Hope your Wednesday is filled with laughter!
40% off all coaster sets
15% off everything else!
I want to see the Book Club but I may just wait until it comes out on Amazon Prime. I need to get girlfriends together and go see it at the theater!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely get your girlfriends together and go see it at the theater. Having them along just makes it that much more fun!
DeleteOh Pam, that last video just cracked me up!!! Hope you have a great Wednesday. Cool and rainy here. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs usual it's hot and sunny here. Isn't he a hoot? Did I mention it's hot here? LOL
DeleteI've fallen into some sloppy habits regarding exercise too. Here's my motivation currently-A WEDDING! I see myself in photos lately and ugh. I really want to get a handle on it and have started adjusting the eating/drinking/movement around here. It's hard with all the company because I cook big breakfasts and more carbs than normal so I have got to learn to step away : ) The dress! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteThe wedding is supposed to motivate me to but, so far... I've done a good job about backing away from the sugar which is my big, big downfall and it's helping a little bit just because I feel better. But I have got to get serious about some exercise.
DeleteThanks for letting us know what you thought of "Book Club." Some of us "girls" who went to school together were going to go see it, but couldn't get our schedules to match up. I'll probably be waiting for it on DVD now. It looks so funny!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about jobs and AI. Such a shame.
I'm sorry you couldn't get the girls together because it is a lot of fun when you go with them. But the thing is hilarious whether you're watching it at home or in the theater with friends. I was worried there would only be a few funny lines that we saw in the previews but we laughed almost the entire movie.
DeleteLately I just push myself each day to do something considered exercise. Mainly I'm riding my recumbent bike. I can't ride very long but I try to do it twice a day. I'm lifting some weight also for my arms. If you don't use it you lose it. Well I lost mine years ago and it won't come back but at least I'm trying. I use my printer often and we still watch DVD's from Netflix. My collection of DVD's will stay with me until I die except that I am putting the actually disk into small cases to get rid of all the space they take up. I even have back up DVD players. I can't let go yet. I loved Book Club, glad you got to see it.
ReplyDeleteI used to be able to make myself get out and at least do something. Even that's gone now. :(
DeleteTrips to the bathroom alone, I remember THOSE days!
ReplyDeleteI like bookshelves too 😊
I'm still living them. The dog won't let me go alone and neither will the grandkids. LOL
DeleteI have a paper shredder and a printer couldn't be without both, my 30's were busy with young children
ReplyDeleteI need another paper shredder. I think we were all pretty busy with our kids in our 30s. It was a good time. :)
DeleteOMG!!! Those Kalen clips had me rolling!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he a hoot?!
DeleteI have four dogs. So forget about going to the bathroom alone! I think they believe there is a terrorist chipmunk in there or something. At least I am well guarded!
ReplyDeleteSame here with Tucker. If I close the door all the way he whines and scratches so I have to leave it cracked enough for him to get in. Good grief. LOL
Deletetechnology - I have mixed feelings about it. I did have a career in technology. Of course most of that technology is now obsolete (telecommunications changed big time). I do see companies ($$$) pushing technology on us that we don't want. All this voice controlled stuff? Do we really need it? I don't mind pushing a button, flipping a switch. I have a bigger problem talking all the time to some program running in the clouds.
